Taking GTX to exhaust shop next week. I have tti headers and want to run 3 inch exhaust all the way out the back. Will 3 inch fit fine it it's not mandrel bent on these cars. Feel like I need 3 inch with a 512 stoker and over 600 hp

Not a direct answer, but make sure your guy has the right tooling to bend 3". I had a guy tell me he could do 3" but he really couldn't and I got a mangled mess back.

He's good at what he does but he doesn't have a mandrel pipe bender

What does a TTI 3" system cost vs. your guy? Bought A TTI system 15 yrs ago, cost of tubing was so much that making it wasn't worth it.

Pypes has a set I believe. Anyone use them? They are in my backyard, I could save a fortune on shipping.

2 or 3 times as much..from headers back I think 1200

Unless they do a lot of big stuff they most likely have minimal dies. That can be an issue on some applications.

If I were you I would get a TTI system or something mandrel bent. Or just get a mandrel bent 2.5" system as there's no reason to have the weight of 3" crush bent with the flow of 2.5" mandrel.

I just bought mandrel bends and cut them up to make my own tailpipes. Plenty of room.

Pypes is out. They only have a 2.5”, and it has an X crossover. Fug that. :D

Stay with tti 3" and you'll know they'll fit perfectly. Now's not the time to save money and flip a coin on results.

I may just have him run 3 inch to axle for now and get tti kit a little later down the road

Considering that my 2.5” TTI tailpipes are a fairly tight fit, I would not want to try to fabricate 3” tailpipes. At least TTI will have scienced them out as well as possible to clear the axle, gas tank and springs. Unless you just want the appearance of 3” outlets you would probably be just as well off with 3” head pipes and 2-1/2” tailpipes.

I have 3” TTI on my 70 RR fits fine If your friends shop doesn’t have mandrel bent tooling. It will crush down to 2 1/2. Or smaller going over the Rear end

Think what I will do is just have him run it back axle for now. Then I'll buy the back section that goes over axle and have him tie them together...??

^ Really won't work unless he somehow ends up at the exact same muffler location as TTI with his mid pipe construction.

You would need the tailpipes on hand at the time.

Here's a couple of shots of a 3" TTI H-pipe. If show your exhaust guy how they tucked the H-pipe near the floor. I don't have TTI headers.:(

Couple more pictures. The inlet of mufflers are off set toward driveshaft. Center outlet

Maybe buy the tailpipes and he can tie into them as he builds the exhaust..Should be able to do that I'd think pretty easily
