What did you do today....other than work on your car!?

Prices have gone way up on mowing equipment, even the "bargain" big-box-store offerings...those are all made by just two manufacturers, you know! No matter the color, it's either MTD or another manufacturer for all of those. The Lowe's "John Deere" is JD in name only.

I got a great deal on my new mower. I paid a lot for mine, I won't lie. But it is very, very sturdy and strong. The difference between it and the old unit is day and night. I plan on getting the air-ride seat for it in a couple of weeks. I tried that seat out, and it's incredible!

It really depends on the size and terrain of your yard. I have 1.3 acres of yard, and this does the job like no other mower I've used.

It even has LED headlights, so if I get the hankerin' to mow at midnight, I'm set! The daytime temps and humidity can be brutal in OK in the Summertime!
Been wanting to get a better seat for mine for a long time now and with the way my back is, it needs one! The 'U' bend spring doesn't do much unless the rider is 300 lbs so thought about cutting it at the bend, hinging it and adding a couple of springs at the open end. Gotta be better than what it is now....

AYP is the other major MFG.

I have a 1/2 acre, but also frequently mow my 1/2 acre shop property.
That parcel always has debris that I simply mow over.

In all that time and after all that lack of care I've replaced/fixed:

1 new rear tire
1 starter solenoid
Added a manual fuel shut off
Extended the oil drain so it doesn't drain on the frame
Fabricated a discharge chute
Replaced the round bar steering link with square tube
Just last year finally had to replace a blade spindle

That's it other than blades and belts.

It has 1156 "headlights" which actually do OK.

I also have a hitch ball on it and it totes my trailer and car dolly around as well as a yard/limb cart.

Shot my first ever Garand match at Camp Perry.
Finished 11th out of 20 shooters. not bad for my first go, and minimal time spent with this rifle

I hung out in the "Monty Hall" garage and packed up a /6 manifold I sold, tried to do some organization in there as well, while flushing the cooling system on the 300. Oh wait, and I was watching the world go by as I drained some nasty fluid from a large container!!

I miss the Dakota platform.

We've had about 10 in our family.

My mom and I still have ours.

The had a real winner and another market changer, despite almost trying to drive away sales in the final few years rather than regain the market they created.

A lot of work today just to write a cheque for 5 grand in the end... but I did get a nice WWII history calendar! Next time I tell him to STOP, he probably won't back up another 7 feet! Thought we were going to have to call a heavy wrecker, moved him a foot with my truck and then dug to the axle on the 50HP Zetor three times, and on the last "rock" I got him out just as the chain broke..and a hour and a half in. MMMM 100LL........ :D

Just finished rebuilding this 1967 Schwinn Typhoon with 2 speed kickback rear hub. I rebuilt and relaced both wheels and hubs, the bottom bracket and fork tube, lubed all the bearings, cleaned the frame. Installed new pedals, grips and some fat white wall tires! Left the seat and paint in original condition with wear. Same model is what i learned on when i was a kid in the early 70's!

Went to Tampa Bay Blues Festival to see Samatha Fish.

Pretty good turnout.

I got the best neighborhood parking spot I've ever had!
ONE block from venue.

Got decent "seats", too.

Very approachable.
Had some phone/camera malfunctions.
Went through the line twice and still didn't get too good of a shot.
That's the back of my wife's head.
Did get an autographed CD.

Also has a 66 Fury.

Sat with Mom all day in the nursing home. Like herding cats trying to get the staff to do their jobs. Mom fell and broke her wrist and fractured a hip. After surgery she transferred to the nursing home last Thursday. My family has to continually have someone there to ensure Mom gets the care she needs since the staff is overwhelmed with patients, 1 RN for 20 patients, and basic incompetence.

BTDT, unbelievable how poor the care is especially considering what it costs.... Stay on it, best way to get your mom the care she needs & deserves...

We've got round the clock coverage until 9 PM when visiting hours are over. I have the first shift in the morning.

My wife is going to nursing school, did some work at a nursing home (training). She made many comments that many people that work there do not care many other things that tell us that keep your loved ones closer to you not in a nursing home.

Good point. I agree up to the point your loved one needs special care you cannot provide. Try lifting 170 lbs of dead weight with a bad back.

I traded my 2015 Durango in on a 2020 Grand Cherokee Limited X yesterday. It is absolutely LOADED! Previous owner had it 2 years and 12,000 miles and paid for Platinum warranty program which I had transferred to my name. I figure I saved about $20,000Can. by buying used. It has a sport appearance package with scooped hood, dual exhaust with rear valence and 20" wheels with Pirrelli tires. It kind of looks like an SRT, but with a V-6. Seldom seen color as well. Hardest part was getting Sirius radio contract transferred from old vehicle to new. Why do they always have someone I can barely understand doing these jobs?

it's probably better you don't understand the salesman BS and read the purchase agreement!your only entitled to whats written, not spoken!
My friend has hauled his loaded ranger bass boat all over the usa and up here for years with one and bought 2 more so they must be reliable! if he had to leave that boat on the side of the road for 1 minute he'd certainly not repeat purchase!
todays job ensuite makeover!laying tile over infloor heat cable is tedious!
