My fourteen year olds project

This is my first version of 1967 Coronet 440 wagon (circa 1986), before I transformed it into one-of-none R/T wagon.

I've had this thing for over a year now and had all sorts of stuff it needed - new wiring harness, heater core replacement, straightening up some of the Legendary seat covers, etc which also led to a lot of mission creep - rechroming, interior recoonditioning, detailing, detailing, detailing. Finally, as of last week it's had a couple shake down cruises and things are going well minus a bad coolant sensor and the front park light buckets that are not back from having new sockets pressed in them yet.

This is a mighty old thread, but I’ll post my favorite pic of my old GTX.

Did this car come out of Ontario, Canada?

Bought it last Friday. Driven it every day since.

Nice Coronet. It looks like a White Hat Special car. This was a spring promotion that bundled a bunch of stuff into a package. Quite a few, like your car, were painted to resemble Dick Landy's R/T super stock car. He often wore a white cowboy hat.

I don't think it is a White Hat Special. It doesn't have a lot of options. It's a 440 w/ a 383/2bbl, 727 auto, column shift. 50/50 vinyl bench seat, 2 watt AM radio, fender indicator lights, tinted windshield and the CAP clean air package, because it was built in L.A. and sold in S.F., CA. It was built in March, but not purchased until Oct.

My 67 white hat special had only a handful of options- automatic transmission and fender mounted indicators were the main ones.

Manual steering, manual brakes, 318 and 7 1/4.

Oh, okay, maybe it is a White Hat Special. It is a Coronet 440 and has the vinyl top, white wall tires, special hubcaps, fender indicators, deluxe steering wheel & bumper guards.

Is that factory paint?

What color code?

That really pops despite the patina.
