Well if ya'd get rid of the gators and snakes maybe there would be more room?
Yeah, but then we still have the hurricanes and Seminoles. Go Noles.

I don't know why people that don't live here in Colorado always think that we have high taxes. Property taxes are on the lower side. Gas is usually about .10-.15 below the national average. Yes we have 3.1% sales tax and yes we have state income tax. And yes they tax the crap out of everything else but they aren't high taxes. I guess the taxes on pot are pretty strong but so is the pot but hey we gotta pay for our schools some how. Oh and then there are the fee's. Fee's on everything thing but those aren't taxes, right?
Actually for the last three or so decades we've had the Tabor Bill which means all taxes have be put to a public vote. Fee's don't.

On the original topic, property itself here is high and we are filled up with Califorins and CoTexans

I've been on quite a few beaches and I will say the Jersey Shores are pretty nice. Been there a few times. Don't really care for the rest of the state though.

I am not staying in Phoenix. May keep the house here and rent it. Have a big chunk of rural property in NY on Pa state line but winter is nasty. Toured New Mexico a few months ago but way too much liberal for me. Saw many small businesses killed with Covid garbage. Tennessee is a real possibility, outside of Nashville or Knoxville.

I see you mention New Mexico. You also mentioned not liking liberal states, New Mexico is extremely liberal. South of Socorro is pretty conservative though, problem is the state is ran by the folks up north. Something else you should put on your radar concerning the southwest, there is this little thing going on down here called a drought. There is not much water here, doesnt look like we're gettin any for awhile either. This IS fixin to be a very big problem here in a short while. Do some research before moving.
We were there just this week. Stay in the areas where cows out number people and all should be fine.

Oh I just saw that the OP is in Sandusky. While at the Nats my son and I went there and to Cedar Point to ride the coasters. Good times that week.

Actually this is a big problem now and is going to get really ugly real soon. I can't believe all the people that are moving into Vegas and Phoenix. What are these people going to do in a couple years when the lakes are gone and no more water. The power will probably go off this summer at the 2 big dams. I can picture Vegas in 15 years as a deserted ghost town.

It will not take that long for some in the Phoenix area. Private wells are drying up because someone else drilled deeper. Neighborhoods that were built without have their own prime source of water are being shut off in the not so distance future. In an area that is already over built per water available. More desert gets bull dozed and developed in the west valley. Some are already drinking recycled sewer water. Not sure how that will work when the power goes out. There are acres and acres of solar panels in the cities of fun just not sure there are enough.
South Mountain Park is a beautiful place to visit. Not sure how many in the Phoenix area even know it exist. But to stand on top the mountain presents the vastness of the valley's problem.

Yeah !! We're #1 !! "I'd like to thank the NJEA - New Jersey Extortionist Association"

Maybe not, in Nebraska where I live it is 2.2%, the nice neighborhoods are 2.4-2.7%. Plus 5% income tax, plus 7% sales tax, plus high car plates. A state with few people, mostly in a few cities = high tax. Wyoming looks pretty good, or South Dakota.

Sorry... you don't even come close... Property tax rates are the highest, see the grid... then we have income tax, sales tax, ridiculous insurance rates... people pay in the THOUSANDS for auto insurance... New Jersey is TAX HELL
