Woof!... that'll keep you busy for a couple hours! Nice score though.

Those are cool cars. Major project, but will be worth it in the end. Original black with a red interior? Looks like a blue engine bay?

@Richard Cranium A little back story - My uncle bought the car in the early 70's for $600 (bought from original owner I believe). The car had an issue with it starting. Turns out the problem was all it need was a new starter. My dad being the gearhead in the family spent 4 hours fixing it and the car is good to go. Fast forward about a year.....my uncle falls asleep at the wheel, side swipes a fire hydrant (bending it over at an angle), rips the fender off, and crunches the door. He ended up driving the car home and its pretty much been parked ever since for approx 47 years.

I think the reason for the blue tint is just the exposure of the pic. In person it looks black. I've seen ppl talk about this color combo before. Does anyone know if this combo is as rare as some ppl claim? There was a video of a car show I watched with 13 charger 500s and there was one there that was black on red. I thought the guy said it was the only original one known to exist.

Can you reach this spreadsheet?

Take a look at the STATS tab for things like colors, etc.

The fender tag is going to take a little work to read and not all of will be able to be read. The center of the tag is rusted out. As of right now I am not sure what info I can get off the fender tag yet.

Take some high resolution pictures of the tag for your own records/documentation.

Maybe the broadcast sheet is somewhere inside the car and is still in good shape. Be careful when removing it!!!

Unfortunately, there are no records for exact numbers of the different color combos produced. I have seen a few black/red second gen Chargers. But you have a 69 500 which is rare to start with regardless of color combo.

So on the registry I see 3 listed mine would make 4. But that doesn't mean there is many more out there. Averages do look lower for this combo. Its too bad Dodges record keeping was so bad and things go lost with the merge. I have a '65 Bonneville and through P.H.S. was able to obtain pretty much every piece of documentation on the build of the car.

Nice to see you're saving it and thanks for the back story! As far as the fender tag all you have to do is take it off & take a picture of the back side then flip the image so that you can read it. That makes it easier to read.

I agree. Once I get the car home everything will be documented with before and after pics. Im really hoping the broadcast sheet is still in there.

Can you post a picture of the broadcast sheet?
As of right now I am not to that point yet. I still don't have the car home yet. This weekend was an evaluation and next weekend I will be picking up. Once I get it home I can get it on the lift and all the good stuff lol.

I bet the build sheet is still in there, has to be based on the info you've provided. Back in the day no one really looked for build sheets but today we're all looking for documentation. Check behind the back seat top. Now the real question is when you find it will it be for your car.
