Team,

Just be aware that the auto renewal for XM ect, is extortionate......was going through some monthly charges and caught them hitting me for $40 a month for mine......called them and gave them the option to refund the last 4 months or I'd just piss and whine about it....(hehe)

They were cool with a$120 credit and $5.99 a month for 12 months.

I have been playing the siriusxm pay game for over a decade on 2 cars. Sirius gives you a 1 year "promotional" sub for $99. which includes every channel. When your Sub auto renews you'll get charged the monthly fee they rambled about during the sign on process, an insane amount of money($37. per month?). Just call them and say you aren't paying more than last year and you need to cancel. Somehow the "one time" promotional deal will be available again and you get credited back what you paid over the $99.

It's a dirty business model and I always hate making that phone call. You would think after 15 years of doing the exact same thing they would just set my account up to renew at the proper rate.

I quit Sirius because of this!

I'm won't tolerate being grilled to negotiate a fee.

Feels like the "old days" when being grilled to purchase a time share.

WON"T DO IT!!!

I record my own music on a thumb drive, enjoy every song and no charges!

I go though the same thing, I mark my calendar every year "call Sirius" right before my expiration. I tell them money is tight I need to cancel, some agent sounds like in the Philippines immediately replies how about $5 a month plus taxes and fees if we offer you that? OK, I guess I can swing that I say while rolling my eyes. Mark my calendar for 364 days in the future to call them again. Rinse repeat, every year.. Gets old.
When I bought my Challenger in 2009 they had a lifetime option for around $300. I didn't get that, but when I got my Dart in 2014 I wish they still offered that I would like to consider a lifetime subscription and not have to worry about it again!
I do like it rather than trying to keep a library on my phone or a drive to plug in. If I do that, I just fall into a rut of listening to same things over and over.

Pretty much an obsolete business model. I think they should give you the channels for free with commercials and have you pay if you don't want the commercials, like the streaming services do like Pandora. Otherwise, I think the streaming services will clober Sirius and XM radio.

They sound like the cable TV companies. I don't listen to much anymore while driving but do listen to the radio at home and the station I listen to the most comes off the local airwaves. Might do that too with the TV since I'm watching less and less of that even.

You don't get the Patriot Channel with David Webb or Andrew Kilgow.....
Best thing I tell em every year is the truth,,, I am an old man on Social Security and I cannot afford it for full price.......

I had a trial subscription on my truck. I just let it run out. I don't like terrestrial radio OR satellite! I'll stick to my CDs. When I want Zeppelin I GET Zeppelin.

Having 2 vehicles that offered Sirus on them, I opted to not utilize their platform while driving. I use my cell phone for stored music plus if I want to I can stream some favorite stations I like to listen to. Plus I also have thumb drives for use. As I have gotten older, I don't listen to much music as I once did so I usually am just with my thoughts when on the road. I actually like it that way now. Too much to be distracted from these days. Gotta watch out and be defensive at all times...cr8crshr/Bill:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::usflag::usflag::usflag:

Hey Hey! What can you do?

I got the promotional service when I bought my 300 in February. I never use it. I can't spend time searching channels while driving... Ain't nobody got time for that. I get letters every three days and emails every other.

I've been hooked since 2006. Super easy to listen to metal, classic rock, jazz, Christian all in one set of presets that work from the steering wheel. It's also my source for discovering new music.
I do use cds in the classic cars.
Always get the $5.99 deal. I don't need to talk radio, only thing I sometimes would listen to was mad money on cnbc

I do the dance every 6 months with my subscription, for 25 dollars and change.
So far, haven't had any issues with them, renewing it, when i call in.

Radio and TV used to be free! I keep it that way! I don't pay for anything. Except $40.oo flat rate internet. And that's too much in my opinion. And I don't pay for my phone. (Company phone).....

I got in on the life time for 300 on my portable unit. I just use my phone and the XM app in my cars

My 2005 ram could have gotten sirius, but I drive into a parking garage that knocked the antenna off the truck.
I just cut the antenna wires and welded up the hole in the roof.
