My mom thinks she saw a 69 charger 500 about half a mile from where my r/t is parked

She can't tell apart a 69 from a 70 charger on her own but after showing her a few
pictures she thinks it was a 69 500 in the same color combination as mine. (It said 500 on the car)

How likely is that to happen in germany (Ingolstadt)? :D
Unfortunately she did not take pictures but maybe i will see it on the road sometime in the future.

Must look mostly like this one but with black vinyl top and green interior

She said the car looked like new and if i remember correctly the base engine for the 69 500 would be a 440 right?
So at least the same as mine.

Likely owned by an audi employee that finally got good taste in cars. :D

Why wouldn't a 69 Charger 500 be floating around Germany? There are Car Enthusiasts, the Autobahn & Charger 500's... Seems like a natural to me...

When we were in Europe back in the late 60's & early 70's I saw plenty of cool cars & bikes, owned by locals as well as US servicemen.. Some of those likely survived & how many have been imported as well as exported since then...

While living in Turkey the was a 70 Hemicuda on base... A member of Moparts who lives in Istanbul posted pictures of his 69 Hemi Charger R/T

Pops had a 64 Chrysler 300K Convertible that when we returned to the US the car stayed in Turkey....

'70 Charger 500's were very common, especially around here. The local Dodge dealer was real big into performance cars. Of course a '69 Charger 500 is a whole different animal. I think I only saw one '69 Charger 500 with the flat grill and different rear window line, back in the day.

Yes but the same color combination, tagged in my city and just half a mile from where mine is parked.
Its not just another 69 charger.

Guy seems to drive it as it was parked at the grocery store.

Yeah well....my sister thinks she saw Godzilla browsing in the vegetable aisle of the Kroger, too....

Point is - it's all heresay without proof.
Where's the pics?

I have seen both 69 Charger 500s and Daytona's with vynal tops. Some were done by dealers. One F8 Daytona even had a mod top!
Sorry but they never made trim for the 500/daytona roof line so they wouldn’t have been able to hide the edges of the vinyl.

I have seen the car RC posted in person, and there was a green one with a mod top on it. I have also see three 500s with vynal topson them . One of them has cast pot metal moldings on the corners that were chrome plated and looked like factory pieces. The blue Daytona RC posted had moldings made of aluminum channel that looked much like the drip rail edge moldings. The Upholstery shops used to have a machine to bend the molding to shape.

The point is that the '69 500's were a special design to meet NASCAR rules. They had a different grill and the rear window extended all the way down the body line, not tucked in like a standard Charger. In '70 they changed the 500 to more of a trim package, not the NASCAR style, using the standard Charger look.

I know that but i'm personally not a huge fan of the 69 500 look.
I'd take an R/T (which i have) or Daytona myself. :)
