I have the BFG's on mine right now, won't be buying them again I don't think.
I have already replaced the rears with Cooper's. Time for a pair of fronts. One of the rears did the same thing a few months ago.

I had all four blow out on my 68, of course several days apart. Scared the sheeeeeet out of me. I put cooper cobras on my 70.

I had an old Firestone radial sitting in the spare tire well of my wagon, with no weight on it and it blew apart with enough force that it knocked the plastic cover off to the side.
Yet, while I would NOT drive on it, here's a 40(?) year old bias ply Goodyear that shows no signs of dry rot.....

I was driving one of my 67 GTX'S on red line bias ply that were dated 1979 until about 4-5 months ago. There was no sign of dry rot. They were replaced due to wear .

Holy cow! What's the date on the BFG?
If I'm not mistaken about 8-9 years old. No more than 10. This is not the first time, for this brand. I had 3 go within days on a 67 GTX, 2 rears on a 67 Coronet R/T, and this is the second one on this car, 68 Coronet R/T. All B F Goodrich radial TA's.

Check the date code on the tire. Didn't realize how old mine were until I looked and all four are 2005....

Looks like I'll be swapping out mine for Coopers soon.....I can't afford to nose dive if a front blows out on me.
