165mph ticket

thats my dream ticket ,but he is so screwed now on his insurance :BangHead:

Defendant's plea: " but, Your Honor, I was only going 165 mph when I could've been going 200 mph. That's 35 mph UNDER the car's limit ! "

30 over, in a 50MPH or over, and we're now into "Stunt driving". Sure glad this wasn't around when I was a teen... they also added on April 1st that you have to take a "drivers course" or they won't reinstate your licence after the 30 day suspension.

Anyone caught driving 40 km/h or more above the speed limit, where the speed limit is set at less than 80 km/h, will face stunt driving charges in Ontario.

In areas where the speed limit is above 80 km/h, a motorist will face stunt driving charges if they go more than 50 km/h above the limit.

Drivers also face a 30-day roadside driver’s licence suspension, as well as a 14-day vehicle impoundment, if pulled over by police for stunt driving.

The maximum fine for stunt driving in Ontario is $10,000. You could also face up to six months in prison.

30mph (50kph) over the limit here - no matter the speed limit, it's automatic licence suspension.

I am sure that quite a few folks here had cars that could approach that number back in the day. Hell, I had my 70 Challenger RT 383 4speed with 3.23's out back up to 135 with a little left to go. I had a witness in the car too. I asked him if he wanted me to put it all the way to the floor & he said naaaaa, that scared me enough. Hell, I had my 1970 Honda CB 750 up to 130 as well. Don't get me wrong, there was not another car in sight on route 80 when it first opened up!:D

My '70 Road Runner would have come pretty close to that. I wasn't fully tapped out while doing 155mph.
Not for the faint of heart in an older car.....remember I was only 23 at the time. :D

Been there and done it. But telephone and utility poles are hard to count. Will GPS show triple digits?

Cost me $500 plus court costs and the expense for dummy school for a simple CA stop and roll. In other words I stopped ( kind of) tapped the breaks and made a right turn. Cop sitting right there. Very expensive to get any ticket in CA. And that was about 10 years ago …..

Here’s one, got a moving violation the other day under speeding category, 3-5 MPH

Here in Ontario, they also tow your car to an impound lot for a couple of weeks, so there are those charges as well.

He could have waited until today and had a lot more fun doing it..... maybe a trophy instead of a ticket.

Don’t know your tire size, but I would guess you might have been about 6000 rpm.
