165mph ticket

Don’t know your tire size, but I would guess you might have been about 6000 rpm.
I don't recall the rpm's but the tires were N-50 15's. On top of that, I don't recall what brand the tires were. Pro Trac or Mickey Thompson is what I have usuallly used. As there doesn't seem to be a standard for tire size, it's just a ball park estimate of ratios of width to height!

Last week I went by an unmarked Statey in a Tahoe. He was in the right lane doing the 50mph limit I assume. I passed him doing 90mph but was doing almost a buck and a quarter in the Durango when I spotted him. No need for a brake attempt, the jig was up before it started. Just put my hazards on, slid over to the shoulder as he pulled in behind me and expected the worst.
After the usual "what's your hurry?" he asked if I knew how fast I was going. He had no radar on because he was rolling so I said "that depends on exactly when you saw me, but that I was probably up around 90". He nodded in agreement and went back to run my papers.
When he returned to my window, he thanked me for my honesty and wrote me up for failure to signal a lane change.
It cost me 2 bills anyway with the NYS surcharge but at least no impound and no points.

Wouldn’t have happened that way if you were under 30.

I got a 105 in a 55 ticket in KS in 1985. It was a $35.00 mail-in fine with no points off my license if I mailed it in before the court date. No sweat!

Got an 85 in a 55 in the California desert in 1978. Same thing. $30.00 mail-in fine.
