Man that sucks big time!
That pic is the primary latch mechanism, the secondary is a loop above where the primary goes into the cowl that should catch the latch mechanism if it releases from the cowl. You mean you don't have one of these?

Maybe we trying say the same thing. The loop above catches the latch above the cowl which is where the hood sits fully closed.Sorry, no... The loop is for the primary latch, the hook is the secondary or backup latch...

Yeah, I been working on Mopars since I was a teenager. If I ever go bald, there's gonna be some interesting looking scars on the back of my noggin. For a perfect restoration the hook should have some skin and hair on it
Hood pins only work if the pins are in place. Ask me how many flying glass hoods I've seen at the racetrack where someone forgot to put the pins back in.View attachment 1287878
Hood pins are the way to go....and the proper catch.
I lost a hood just like that many moons ago on my Charger.
So...how many flying glass hoods have you seen at the racetrack?Hood pins only work if the pins are in place. Ask me how many flying glass hoods I've seen at the racetrack where someone forgot to put the pins back in.

Maybe something to do with people that own the brand in the picture???
