THey said it took more than 2 hours to put the fire out. It kept re-igniting. Good safe transportation. The results of the battery fire would make me think twice about riding in one.

So what are they using to charge those batteries...Does anyone think renewable energy is going to be able to produce enough energy to power the grid?
How many people actually read them?? My first X asked me a couple of questions about stuff in the car after owning her new car for about a year. Told her heck if I know about this new stuff....have you looked in the manual. Her reply was ''no and have never opened it.''Speaking of Tesla fires... Apparently he'd never read the owner's manual to figure out how to manually open the door in case of an electrical problem.

They are using hydro-electric power here in British Columbia. Quebec, which along with BC are the two best selling areas in Canada for electric cars, is also hydro powered. We sell our surplus to Alberta, Washington State, Oregon, and California. And although we have no shortage (I've never experienced a 'brown-out') the capacity is still expanding. The Site-C dam, due to go online in 2025 will add another 5,100 GWh of electricity to our grid. Quebec (97% hydro + a lot of wind power) sells some of their excess power to New England and New York. Ontario Hydro also exports to some mid west states. So not all the electric transportation in the USA comes from coal power. They are using electrical power produced mostly by good old fashioned fossil fuel-fired power plants. To think otherwise is like calling a locomotive an EV because electric motors drive the wheels - and on-board diesel fueled generators produce the power to run them.
