Tesla is Shutting Down Their Factory Permanently

He sure blathers on and on a lot about that Netherlands plant, but didn't find much time to remark on the new Tesla factory going up in Berlin.

So what are they using to charge those batteries...Does anyone think renewable energy is going to be able to produce enough energy to power the grid?

The results of the battery fire would make me think twice about riding in one.

Where’s Ralph Nader when you really need him?

Elon make sure you close the deal on Twitter before anything else….

When I was first into Jeeps back in the 90's, i noticed a bunch of them burned in the junkyards. Everyone should carry a fire extinguisher.

They are using electrical power produced mostly by good old fashioned fossil fuel-fired power plants. To think otherwise is like calling a locomotive an EV because electric motors drive the wheels - and on-board diesel fueled generators produce the power to run them.

Had a couple of guys offered me to drive their Teslas and politely said "no thanks, it'll probably just make me want to by one" :D

Speaking of Tesla fires... Apparently he'd never read the owner's manual to figure out how to manually open the door in case of an electrical problem.

How many people actually read them?? My first X asked me a couple of questions about stuff in the car after owning her new car for about a year. Told her heck if I know about this new stuff....have you looked in the manual. Her reply was ''no and have never opened it.''

Didn't Tesla, owner Elon Mosk just build a new plant in Texas too ?
I know he left California, because eco-nazi BS, over taxation,
even when he was still a "well you know"

that dude in that video is annoying at best
true or not

I've owned 'well dad did' a Pinto,
& owned & driven many many Jeeps, none spontaneously combusted
like these EV cars did/do

I drove my sisters Corvair Monza Turbo
I never had any rollover issues (Ralph Nader) & I drove it hard

Did you guys see the Chinese electric bus fire? One spontaneously lit, and spread to three or four others.
They tried to put it out, but finally gave up and let them burn themselves out.
There were a hundred empty fire extinguishers laying around, and the fire department standing around, watching em burn.......
As i understand it, in Europe the goal is to not let a electric vehicle fire set off anything else, they don't even try to put it out.

They are using hydro-electric power here in British Columbia. Quebec, which along with BC are the two best selling areas in Canada for electric cars, is also hydro powered. We sell our surplus to Alberta, Washington State, Oregon, and California. And although we have no shortage (I've never experienced a 'brown-out') the capacity is still expanding. The Site-C dam, due to go online in 2025 will add another 5,100 GWh of electricity to our grid. Quebec (97% hydro + a lot of wind power) sells some of their excess power to New England and New York. Ontario Hydro also exports to some mid west states. So not all the electric transportation in the USA comes from coal power.
