Not a typical 68 Charger

With the heat lately progress has been slow. Did get the lower arms tacked up and starting the fitment process for the coilover shock. After that, the upper arm starts.

Stupid question…..why not just come off the bushing pivot point directly instead of using that smaller piece then the curved tubing?
 
I did this for a couple reasons. One was to mimic the stock lower arm and its offset. I figured the oem did this for some reason. I wanted to make sure there was no interference with the wheel down the road. Adding in the bending dies radius it would definitely be out further and in the tire/wheel path possibly. I am not sure of the width of the tire/ wheel combo yet but I want as much as possible. With the wheels having so much offset that it’s basically flat at the front, this causes the wheel swing in closer to the arms than a minimal offset that pivots out and around the center line. If the car was already done and I was just replacing it I would have all the variables in front of me.
 
Cool build! Nice to see another AWD 68 charger! I’ve been building mine for the last 13 years and it’s nearly done. Need to put up a thread in here about it
 
Upper shock mounts made. Lower arms boxed. Upper arm mounts modified and tacked in. Spindles are now cut and tapped for the upper uni-ball.

You can bigger steel wheels that will accept poverty caps.
 
It will need a large wheel to clear the caliper. They are huge and use a 400mm rotor.

Dang. That rules out 100 spoke gold Dayton 13"s then with over inflated tires to look like a homie.:lol:
 
Is it just the angle of the pic or is that set up toward the rear of the front fender?
 
The picture is angled from the back. You can see the angle of the jack stand and the hub is slightly turned.
 
Gotcha. Having 1 eye isn’t all it’s cracked up to be.
 
Been doing home improvements so not much progress lately. Home stuff is about done and got the core-support done and inner fenders cut out. I will be making new inner fenders to tie into the frame like stock but work around the new suspension.
Got the new rotors from RB performance. 400mm front and 350 rear should stop it with no problem.

I know what you mean, in the process of selling of selling my house, actually it’s sold, so yep, not a lot of time for the fun stuff.

But some progress is better then no progress, just keep chiseling away and you’ll get done:thumbsup:
