Hey everyone! My name is Chris, and I live up in WA State. Admittedly, I’m notorious for lurking on Mopar forums digging for various info for my podcast, Talking Mopars. Hopefully you’ve heard of it, and if not, maybe you’ll enjoy it. You can find all the ways to listen at TalkingMopars.com, and/or follow my adventures on Facebook/Instagram (@TalkingMoparsPodcast), and YouTube (YouTube.com/TalkingMoparsPodcast).

I have recently acquired a 1972 Plymouth Road Runner, and I’m trying not to be overwhelmed with the project. I got it in a trade, and while I was sad to see my beloved Dodge D150 Mr. Norm’s Grand-Spaulding Dodge tribute truck go, I was beyond excited to tackle the assembly project that is my Road Runner.

The guy I got it from bought it online and shipped to WA State where it subsequently was blown apart, and had the metal/body/paint/engine work done. The owner (who is a Mopar guy, and owns a body shop) is dealing with health issues, and wasn’t thinking he’d have the energy to see the project through to the end, so we made a deal and became friends.

I’m likely going to have a ton of questions related to re-assembly, and I figured this would be a good place to share my experience with this project, and hopefully learn some stuff. I’ve included some pictures of the car below. It’s a 1972 Plymouth Road Runner that was originally equipped with a 340 and an A-833. I was also lucky enough to get it with the fender tag, and a really good condition Broadcast Sheet. Unfortunately, the original engine and transmission are gone, but it does have a conservatively rebuilt 340, and a 4-speed.

I look forward to talking B-Body Mopars with you all!

Welcome from Missouri!!! Nice car!!

Ouch, that's a LOT of work.

4 speed AC car?

Cool.

Fixing to be a sharp looking '72 you got there. 340, 4-speed is a fine combination IMO. Good luck with the build and keep us in the loop with your progress.

Greetings, and welcome to FBBO from western NY!

Welcome from Iowa, Nice 72 and looks like it is well on it's way back to duty.

Welcome from Illinois!! That is an ambitious undertaking and the body and paint work are very impressive! Look forward to your updates.

Welcome from Nebraska!
Always will have a soft spot for 72's. Great driving cars.
Yours is really coming together.

Aloha from Hawaii. I just spent Thanksgiving up the road from you in Arlington. Maybe on another trip I will see your car on the road some time. I did see another 72 while I was there

Welcome and lucky for you that a lot of the hard work is already done.

welcome to FBBO, from NorCal Sierras

That looks like a great start. For once, "the hard work (really) has been done"!

To borrow an old phrase, 'You've come a longggg way Baby,' that's a serious undertaking you got going. Welcome from south, Sir.

Thanks for the warm welcome! I’ll be starting another build thread, so I will share it here when it gets started!

Hi Chris, welcome from 1 1/2 hours north of you. :) :canada:
