Getting a little late at the cruise, thinking of hitting the road. A few minutes later, lights on, time to head home!

On a side note, I'd heard the Magnum's retractable headlight covers were to make it more aerodynamic, in an attempt to keep Petty driving Dodges after the '74 Charger was no longer allowed per NASCAR rules. I recently talked to a late B fan from the Detroit area who has spoken with the designer. He wanted retractable headlight covers but manufacturing pushed back due to the fact their headlight aiming fixture wouldn't work with body colored panels obstructing the headlights. They fought back and forth for a while, and finally came up with a compromise, the car could have retractable covers, but they had to be clear to allow the alignment fixture to work on the assembly line.

A kid I went to high school with had a stunning looking black 400 T top Magnum with red interior. It was a great looking car when he got it. He beat it to death!
