I would like to add a power brake booster and possibly a dual master. I want to keep the stock drum brakes, though. Anyone have a good early B booster?

Why not just do the dual master? Are you running big HP?

If you do an original booster on an early B Body, be aware that it takes a different reinforcement plate on the firewall than a non power brake car. You will need that plate too.
This is the factory Midland booster on my 64 Plymouth with power brakes>

Thank you for the reminder about the reinforcement plate. I had completely forgotten.
No big horsepower. Stock 318 poly.

I have a '62 booster if you are interested.

The reinforcement plate can be modified for the booster.

I am interested if it's good and with the backing plate, and at the right price. Want to keep this thing as stock as possible but because I use hand controls, power brakes would be helpful

I've got a core 65 w drum brakes booster for 80 plus shipping

I kinda looked around for rebuild kits but no luck.

Is there a different rod from the brake pedal arm with power vs manual brakes?

I'll get a picture of it and get it to you later today. Cheap. I have no use for it.

I hunted all over my garage and garage attic. I can’t find it. I have some things in a storage space, I’ll check there tomorrow. I know I didn’t sell it but so far I can’t find it.

No luck. I hope I didn’t cause too much trouble. I can’t find that brake booster. I‘m very sorry about that.

Keep me in mind, pleasen Sure would make life easier.
If you're anything like me, it'll show up at some point and you'll say "I remember putting it there". It's happened to me too many times to count.
I really thank you so much.
Merry Christmas

Some 64's used a Kelsey-Hayes booster. They work OK, but are not rebuildable, so if they fail they are gone for good. The most powerful option (with the factory power brake backing plate) is the 1st gen Bendix dual diaphragm, off an early Imperial. Bolt in, much more powerful than any other booster. (Might need to redo the brake lines though, as it's quite a bit longer than the single diaphragm units).

That dual diaphragm Bendix booster was used in late Dodge B-vans through the late '80's. I have used them in my projects, because they are easy to remove from the donor van. They are right under the hood on a 90 degree bracket. No crawling around under car dashes to remove them.
