71 b--body vapor canister and fuel lines

Howdy all. I put the correct fuel tank in my 71 satellite. Where should I run the 5/16 line since I don't have stock valve covers? Can I plug it under the hood? My sending unit has a 1/4 return nipple. Should I just buy a fuel filter with a third nipple and run to that? Thanks for the help

I was doing some reading and some of this is over my head, but I wonder if you could do something like on this 72.

So your running the four hoses of your gas tank to the vapor separator inside your drivers side rear wheel ?

And the 5/16" vapor line is complete from that same vapor separator all the way to the passenger side frame rail and up to the passenger side engine compartment ?
