I have a complete 1968 vintage 318 LA engine and 904 transmission for sale. Asking price is $800 or OBO. Located in Deland, FL, 32724
I have a very good reputation on FBBO and have been a member here for over 12 years.
I got this engine, and a few other Mopar Big and Small blocks, (which I will also be listing soon), as a payment for some work that I did for a friend. I do not know anything about the history behind it. I do know it turns over and does not have any tight spots during revolution.
I would recommend a complete teardown and rebuild to make sure it is OK, or you could roll the dice and give it a try as is. I did not hear or see it running myself.
The good:
My friend told me that it was running when he personally removed it from a 1968 Coronet 4 door. It has been stored inside a garage and out of the weather for some years after it was removed from the Coronet.
It is a complete engine and transmission assembly with all of the throttle and transmission linkages, PS pump, alternator, AC compressor and various idler pulleys. It also has the original carburetor, motor mounts and exhaust manifolds. There are some missing bolts on the exhaust manifolds.
Block date code is cast as September 28th, 1967. I have included a picture of the casting date.
The bad:
It is missing the starter. I should have one for it stashed away, and can include it based upon the agreed selling price.
The fan is missing.
I do not have the air cleaner.
The AC compressor doesn't turn over.
The transmission lines were bent up badly, so I removed them and tossed them out. The transmission fluid looks nice and red, plus it doesn't smell like it was burned.
Any reasonable offer will be accepted.
Thanks for the add Joey !
