62 Belvedere 318 poly granny cruiser (one day i hope)

Ordered the max flows.. should be able to put them on next weekend.. They are supposedly the quietest at idle/cruise then come alive at WOT.. Will see how it goes.. i probably should have gone with 2.5" exhaust.. but i always overdo ****.. bad habit

I too have a tendency to overdo stuff sometimes.

New car shopping is a PITA. Ford has major issues with their water pumps because of location, GM has transmission issues, Stellantis has problems with everything. Hate to say it but Toyota seems to have the best vehicles right now. I'm in Oakland county and it's damn hot and humid.
Waiting for temps to drop below 70* and humidity below 50% so I can finish painting my '63.

yeah.. the humidity is horrible this year.. it just shuts me right down. And yeah.. thinking bout the Tacoma.. every brand i read about has issues it seems.. And my 3.6l water pump has been weaping for 2 years already.. just not bad enough to deal with.

FTI just called.... Converter is on it's way back.. had it restalled to 3800(ish) from 3200... so now i have a spare.. gonna keep the current 3200 in the car for now and maybe try the 3800 when the new motor is done (no idea when that might be)

I will say FTI was a joy to deal with... John went through stuff with me and gave me a deal on checking it out and restalling it.. Super happy with them and would buy again.

New mufflers are here, showed up early... should have them on in a day or 2 depending on heat/lazy :)

Convertor for the '64 727? Stock early input or did you put later model input in it?

Later input, i looked for months for a 19? spline and gave up.. found a trans for $100 and swapped parts...

Went out and got the passenger exhaust done.. tomorrow the drivers..

Starting to look bad near the muffler, i weld the mufflers to the head pipe, had to cut them off twice now and add some pipe back. No one will see it but me though.

And now i get to check my garage 20 times before bed for fires...

K.. hooker mufflers are nice... car is not too loud at idle now... still crazy raspy at wot which i hate soo much. I think the tailpipes are causing it. I usually run turn downs before the axle.. but went all out the back this time and it's horrible on the gas.

Brakes are still crazy scary, no idea what to do about that :(

And here's something i find odd.. using a thermal gun (love it) my 1-2 header pipes are around 475, 3-4 525ish, but 5-6 are both like 625... huge jump... 7-8 are like 525 again. Must be the way the coolant flows? found it odd...

Wondering if i should go back to turn downs or maybe find skinny resonators for after the axle...

got some stuff done this morning.. fixed some small exhaust leaks (band clamps... added ultracopper) gonna suck to take apart.. but that's why i have hammers...

Noticed my gas gauge staying near full after driving quite a bit, ran my bore scope into the tank.. but it doesn't have side cameras..so i couldn't see the actual level:(
Went the gas station and put in 6 gallons just to see if it would take it, sooo.. hate not having a accurate gauge.. but not as much as i would hate to drain the tank and have a leaking lock ring. Gonna leave it alone, i know that it can take $20when it comes off full :) just don't wanna run out

Relashed my valves AGAIN... that's getting old..i think 1/2 turn is gonna be it though.. motor seems happier and it's quiet.. except one lifter that doesn't like pumping up. i put it at 3/4 and it can tick.. it's not too bad but i know it's there.. hoping it doesn't hammer the rocker too bad.

And... did some precision machining on my dist.. need to make the holes a little smaller still, the math didn't math..

also primered my front rims finally.. gonna let them sit for a day.. sand and primer again, trying to fill in some crappy spots.. glad i decided to use my spray gun and not cans.. gonna go body color on the front rimes.. i need to find a pair for 9" dog dishes though.. i only have 10s

Also wanted to mention... i decided to try a new soap and the stuff is unreal.. i have tried all the normal gojo and all that.. never had anything work near as well as this..
