up to what year can you change a 318 back to carburated? im looking for a 318 for my charger but dont know what year i can go up to. Thanks

Any year, the hardest part is gettin a intake manifold for the swap from FI back to a carb. (LOL) Edelbrock, MoPar Performance have these intakes on the shelf waiting for you. Linkage is not an issue ethier. I'd do a Lokar cable set up. Better than OE mechanical linkage. And probably cost about the same.

Go to sumitt racing .com for intakes for carb magnum engines if the donor engine is that new.

ok when did the intakes change i already have a 4bl intake and carb setup?

well looked up my intake on summit and the applications say it fits 67-91, so i guess thats my answer?????

Yup....when the Magnums came out, that's when many things changed.

@DaltonRuss...Summit and MoPar Performance both offer carb intakes for Magnum 318s also. I myself prefer the '88-'91 "302" castings, though.

up to early built 92 full-size pickups and vans. mid year or so of 92 build is when the magnum accross the board went into effect. as long as its wearing a throttle body on a normal looking intake, your good. the benefit of the "swirl port" heads and a roller cam. even a higher mileage engine, picked up dirt cheap, will last longer due to the roller cam. happy hunting!!!

The biggest drawback to the newer engines is the beer barrel intake bottom leaking oil into the intakes. The computer only pulls so much timing out when it pings and if it's allowed to run like this for a long time, the engine can become damaged.
