Hello all,
I just bought a 63 Polara with a 69 RB 426.
The block casting# is 2658836, which according to the info I have is the 426 "industrial" model.
What I would like to know is how this particular version differs from other 426 castings ???

They used these engines on alot of things...From genrators to warning sirens...
They had a write up in mopar action on these motors...
Petty Blue 67 GTX

Also found in RV motorhomes, Dodge dumptrucks, buses, and even in sawmill applications,LOL!

i have 2 "industrial" big blocks. one was in a winebago motor home,75 model, steel crank, the VIN said 413,the stamp pad says,2nd row 413,then on bottom row stamped 440-3. not a 413. the second, from a 74 model class A winebago. 440,steel crank, with a factory turbocharger. has an old garrett, with a cast iron blow through adapter mounted under the thermoquad carb. was supposed to be good for 4 psi boost. ma-mopar did some different things when the term "industrial" came into play.

This one has forged pistons, 10:1 comp., roller rockers, Crower .549 lift cam, dual cross ram aluminium manifold with a pair of Edelbrock 650's and headers.

well.. its closer to a maxwedge than it was when it came from the factory! what heads does it have?

Huh?? Enlighten us, I have never heard of ANY 440 with a FACTORY installed turbo on ANYTHING.

yeah,i actually have the front 7-8 feet of the camper's frame, front axle, etc. ma-mopar offered it,from what i can find,2 years as an option for higher altitude use. 4psi was maximum,it uses log manifolds turned up,and a cross tube in front, kind of like an old 272-292 ford V-8. has an ancient garrett on it,uses rubber hoses connected to the cast iron housing that bolts on top of the intake, then has a thermoquad on top of the housing. really neat looking set-up. ole' camper had 52,***,1-owner miles on it. i have it stored away in my storage building,i will try and get over there and get some pics this next week.

Are you sure Mopar offered it from the factory? Mopar didn't built motor homes, only offered cab/chassis and rail chassis/drive trains as incomplete vehicles to motor home builders. Are you sure it wasn't something that the motor home manufacturer offered as an option and added to the package? If it was offered with the chassis/drive train from Mopar it is the first I have ever heard of it. Of course I never kept up on any of the motor home info. If so, I will once again say that I learn something new every day.

and that may very well be the case. i do know that the housing on the intake, under the themoquad, coming from the turbo, has a chrysler pentastar on it and a part number. the rest i am not sure of. it may have been offered with the chassis to the camper builder. info on this set-up is vague at best.

Oh yeah me too! I would like to have such an assy for my smallblock truck.

Got a LOT of people interested in this... this may become the new holy grail. I'd like to find one just to sit back and have ready to stick in something!! I'd say you could increase the boost a little, hmmmm....

I will let you know after the car is delivered. I bought the car in Michigan and it should be here in a couple of days.

hairdryer

I saw one of those turbo intakes offered on Craigslist not that long ago. Was out of Bend,Oregon or Portland, if memory serves.

Don't know about "factory" but I've seen that turbo setup on a big block or two
