    6 Pack Plug Fouling Problem

I agree with Bob, you have symptoms of a ruptured power valve. Try another power valve. The 6.5 should be good with a fairly mild cam.

    66 Hemi Torqueflite Value?

Nxcoupe, you didn't say why you want the Hemi 727. After exploding my '70 Hemi 727, I began building my drag 727's with the lighter wedge internals. I used mostly the Turbo Action components, including the 5.0 lever. Today I would not use the 5.0 lever. The 3.8 or 4.2 levers seem better in my...

    6 Pack Plug Fouling Problem

The backfire may have broken the power valve. Normally looks like float level. Try opening the end carbs a tiny bit. But I have no experience with the mechanical end carbs.

    66 Hemi Torqueflite Value?

A few years ago I sold the Hemi internals, front pump & baffle, front drum & clutches, 5.0 lever, 4 pinion planetaries for about $500. I think a give away price. The case and output shaft destroyed in a driveshaft failure in 1977. These were from a '70 Hemi 727.

    Torque Converter Seated?

If you start with the convertor lugs either vertical or horizontal, it makes it a lot easier. Then you can put the convertor slots in nearly the right location.

    Torque Converter Seated?

Virg464, the pic shows a convertor that is not all the way in. Most times it takes numerous attempts to get the slots engaged in pump drive lugs. I pull the convertor back slightly, rotate it a bit and push again, it may take many tries.

    Subframe connectors 66-67

Back in the '70's we did 2x3 connectors on my '65 Dodge. Cut through the floor pan with very tight fit. We mover the springs into the frame rails at the same time. Cut the front out of the rear subframe and slid the 2x3 into the rear subframe and rosette welded it. The 2x3 was welded the entire...

Paint or powder coat old Offy tunnel ram

I you decide powder coat, Cuda Chick 1968, Leanna is great. Although on my tunnel rams I just bead blasted them. But they were drag cars not exposed to the elements.

    LemonWedge 470 build thread

My Indy Max Wedge seems to work great on my Indy heads. I bet it would be good on the 270TF's. It is pretty tall. I had to do a lot to get under my hood with a tall '66 HEMI scoop.

To OP, the cable not quite adjusted correctly. Just my opinion.

Requests for real life 1st or 2nd hand experience with the Weiand P3690982 6bbl intake

The DC mods seemed to on point. Some others did some different stuff. The DC mods worked for a couple of guys back in the

Blown tranny now. Honestly, what next?

A 727 rebuild is fairly simple. If you get a factory service manual or many of the pubs out there. A 727 is a strong trans. They have VERY many stock configurations. You need to get the parts for a HP design. That mainly means the race front band, front servo lever (3.8 or 4.2), good clutches in...

Blown tranny now. Honestly, what next?

I'm not a builder, just a guy that uses good builders. Although I never used a cast crank, but for a mild application I'm sure they are just fine. I used up numerous OEM steel cranks due to my 7000+ rpm abuse. A 6200 RPM will last a very long time.

XX on the water pump housing.

Then sounds like an aftermarket piece, or maybe a dealer replacement part.

    Broken valce spring

For many years at the drag strip I use the "rope" method. I had nice soft clothes line, a spare rocker shaft, and Lisle lever spring compressor. Worked great every time. Changed one in the staging lanes between rounds one time. The rope method works if you know how to do it. BTW I never had a...

XX on the water pump housing.

Yes, a DC replacement part. I presume it's aluminum.

Blown tranny now. Honestly, what next?

Convertor bolts can loosen up. I know. Back in the day I started using the Green Loketite (replaces welding & brazing). Loose convertor bolts are a bitch.

Blown tranny now. Honestly, what next?

I built my own 727's for over 30 years for my drag cars. I only burned up one. Rebuild it in the pits that nite. Went to the finals next day.

    Ready for NMCA Norwalk

Broke off a convertor lug. That sounds pretty bad. What would cause that? I know you have no problem doing the internals. But fix broken stuff & back to racing.

Blown tranny now. Honestly, what next?

I have built 727's for about 50 years, not a pro, but very experienced. Burned fluid, means damaged internal parts. I'd find a better trans builder & a much better convertor.
