    '63 Dodge 440 (383 engine) Ballast Resistor

In 1971, i had a Dodge Charger WP23U1A******, 440 HP, 727B TF, 3.55 gears, etc. In looking for easy extra, cheap HP like everyone else, I converted to electronic ignition and a "hot, high output coil, that delivered blazing acceleration performance"....can't recall the brand name, may have...

    Best Radiator Company?

I believe the Evans product is a propylene glycol derritive.....but it foes not have the specific heat characteristics as ethylene glycol or Dexcool....but its not diluted. Its 2x - 3x more than thd other products. Is it better? It depends on one's viewpoint.....personally.....no thank...

Newly built 440 with low oil pressure

Always a good idea, as it reduces the pump's suction pressure losses (by allowing more flow) increasng the ability to provide more volume delivered up to the pump's design criteria.....its called NPSHr or Net Positive Suction Head required. Just talking out loud...... BOB RENTON

Newly built 440 with low oil pressure

Delivered pump PRESSURE and VOLUME Are inversely proportional. The pressure will rise as the volume is decreased. Conversely, if the volume needed is high, the pressure delivered will decrease..... if the relief valve spring were shimmed solid, and the volume needed exceeded the pump's...

Ray....true statment......perhaps I was too expressive....but having come from industry if something needs to be accomplished accurately, it must be explained thoroughly......and the same with the military....and following orders is paramount. Cheers BOB RENTON

    6 Pack Plug Fouling Problem

Appologies......Incorrect assumption on my part, I thought that you had an origional six barrel set-up with vacuum operated end carbs. Since you are using mechanical operated end carbs, it MAY be possible that fuel is being pulled over thru the carbs accelerating pump delivery system (if...

    '63 Dodge 440 (383 engine) Ballast Resistor

If you do not have the time, energy, or inclination or knowledge about your subject, then, do us all a favor, and say nothing. Your implication that "everyone" will know or knows what your abbreviated words mean is an incorrect assumption.....and incorrect assumptions will always yield...

    6 Pack Plug Fouling Problem

A Power valve's opening point is determined thru the tuning process....when does the additional fuel need to be added during acceleration: to eliminate a flat spot in the acceleration curve or a lean condition. At 16" of manifold vacuum, the standard 6.5" power valve (or valve of preference)...

PLEASE.....USE WHOLE WORDS....not letters, like BR, or dist. Or Pert or bal or OP.....that way, some of us, will have absolutely no difficulty understanding the point you are trying to make. BOB RENTON

    6 Pack Plug Fouling Problem

Power valves are calibrated to respond to a given manifold vacuum expressed in inches of mercury; example: 6.5 = 6.5" of vacuum (opening point). 50% of what number are you referring to? BOB RENTON

    6 Pack Plug Fouling Problem

The end carbs do not have replaceable jets...they have metering plates UNLESS you've changed to the PROMAX conversion units. Also look for a leaking power valve gasket or bad power valve diaphragm in the center carb. I run my carb float levels "slightly" below the sight port...
