This picture I found on the web shows a white dot on the panel, its a 1968 Plymouth Road Runner. Assuming this is the dot you speak of.

Well with limited information on what you are working on its hard to say. But I know a 69 roadrunner just has a hole no lens.
I was just curious and googled Allen IND and found this picture. This is where your door panel was born.
I think the material is die cast. Kind of like hotwheels. Id say soldier would work better I think welds would melt it.

Are you talking about the black plastic piece that travels with the shifter? Or the whole console lid with the shifter hole and PRND21 on it?...
I would check your voltage limiter on the back side of the cluster. Those gauges work off of 5volts. If it goes bad your gauges wont work.top...
