pull your pump rod out and check it and measure it,time for a new one.
did it fire up when you put gas in the carb? look in the hole can you see the fuel pump diaphragm.
do you have an extra coil?

Sounds to me your dimmer switch needs to be rebuild. I had one that the big spring was lose and that was the problem with my dash lights only...

yes so many people have complained about that they are junk. And so are the after market sending unit lock rings.
I would pull the gauge cluster and look at all the wires.

it should be under the driver side of the dash,under tic toc tac on dash frame.
Yes you can run a wire to your radio of the fuse box.Did you get the dinner light all worked out?
