Agree with 66. Depends on the engine builder. For reference, in my 500 hemi, I use Joe Gibbs 10W40 mineral oil, not synthetic.
I think you will find the same speedo cable fits both Belvedere I and II. They come in 2 lengths: 63" and 83". Rock Auto has for under $10.

I had no problem with my Indy EZ heads and valve covers, but a buddy had to do some grinding on his E heads and valve covers like crylydog mentioned.

I fill the bowls when the carbs have been off. I always spin the motor to get oil pressure before starting.
