Ordered replacement carpet for my Charger from Legendary. After pulling the carpet out of the box it was so badly wrinkled and creased that even after leaving out of the box unfolded for a week the crease in the rubber-like backing didn't relax. I sent photos to Legendary and they had it...
Can some one shed light on why the bolt hole pattern on left side of housing is different than on a stock cast iron housing? Everything appears the same except the aluminum hosing from 440 Source has a hole at the base of the thermostat housing, inline with one of the water pump bolt holes. The...
Thanks for the reference. It got me thinking of the lower bearing mentioned in the postsing. I took a look at what I have. I'm not an expert but it looks like a bearing up inside the steering tube on the engine side of the firewall. I'm thinking I don't have to worry about centering. What do you...
Finally getting around to taking the instrument panel bezel out to get wood grain and silver trim redone. The chassis manual has the instructions for dropping the steering column which is straight forward. Its the installation back in place and the issue of "centering" the column without the...
Finally getting around to taking the bezel out. The chassis manual has the instructions for dropping the steering column which is straight forward. Its the installation back in place and the issue of "centering" the column without the C-4157 specialty tool that concerns me. I see the three bolts...
Even though I’ve toyed with the idea of spending lots of money on the engine to maximize the horsepower potential for a 440 that I’ll only be driving on the street during weekends, I can’t justify it since the rest of the car also requires lots of attention $. Since from the responses, the stock...
From research on this forum, I've learned the difference between 906 and 452 heads is hardened valve seats and I believe there was 2 cc's less volume on the 906 heads. I believe they flowed about the same. Can someone confirm? So my question is, how do both stack up against the 346 heads on my...
Does anyone have a recommendation on who to use in the south or central Florida area for re-upholstery of seats out of my 73 Charger. Finally got my $1300 covers from Legendary after the expected 8 month lead time. Got new foam but don’t want to do this myself. Rather have someone who knows...
Recently had to replace a bad alternator on '73 Charger. I noticed today when the car is running at idle speed the ammeter shows discharge. If you give it some gas and raise the RPM the needle swinger over to charge but drops back to discharge when you take your foot off gas. Any suggestions...
What about Boyd Coddington? I read that Scott Drake wheels are made in China. Most everything you buy is from China but I'd like to buy my wheels in the USA.
Recently bought a new set of Wheel Vintiques 15X8 Magnum 500 wheels. One arrived damaged with a flat spot on the rim and both had a couple of small pits in the chrome already. Returned both for a refund. I had thought Wheel Vintiques was the best brand but now wonder if that was a mistake...
I get it but doesn't that assume the stock cast iron exhaust manifolds are capable of increased flow handling the "More air in" by putting more out without creating higher back pressure correct?
If you stick with the factory cast iron exhaust manifolds, other than a weight benefit, is there any performance benefit to be gained going with a set of better flowing aftermarket cylinder heads?
The right side manifold on my '73 Charger is P/N 3751071. Haven't taken the heat stove off the left side to get to the part number yet. However, the right side part number doesn't show up in the parts book. What should left and right side stock part numbers be for '73 440 HP?
