69 gtx 426 with a fuel leak back

Your experience is consistent with what I had with my stock Hemi GTX, running comparable fuel. If it sat for more than a few days, I'd prime the rear carb, after a couple cranks to get the oil moving. With 10% ethanol, it would starve for fuel after sitting for an afternoon.

Finding the history on your vehicle, what did you do?

History I've accumulated on my current GTX has been like winning the lottery. The original owner's son and I get together on a regular basis. He's managed to fill in many of the quirks in the car's history I'd wondered about, and also gave me all the original documents retained by the...

69 gtx 426 with a fuel leak back

Ethanol free gas will help reduce the problem, but won't eliminate it completely.

    Trailer Hitches???

My GTX was used as a tow vehicle by the original owner, hauling his glider across the state when he wasn't launching from the local glider port. Dealer installed package, pictures below from the brochure the dealership distributed in 1969. Recommended weight was a ton with a B body.

    the financial help thread

In 1993 I gained a valuable practical lesson in the balancing act between income and expenses. I was offered a promotion from middle management to a senior position at my employer's corporate headquarters, requiring a move from PA to the Chicago area. My wife agreed, under one condition - she...

Original mufflers question for HP engines

I'm also a fan of the reproduction hemi mufflers. Ran the originals on my first three GTXs. When Baby Blue came back with flow masters in 2013, the drone at highway speeds drove me crazy. I was too cheap to rip out a new exhaust system, so I lived with it. Current owner loves them. To each...

    the financial help thread

Last numbers I saw, it cost over $300,000 for a median income household to raise a child to adulthood. Early lesson I was taught in law school, was counsel clients to take every possible step to avoid divorce, devastating financial consequences for all but the seriously wealthy. Wasn't...

So sorry to hear this. Wishing that in the future you can take comfort in remembering the time you were together.

They Are Still Out There Just To Be Discovered

My county has a similar situation with the farmers. I personally know of three high end cars that have ended up this way. On a more positive note, my late friend Sam and his brother bought up many of them over the years, and some of those parts live on in Baby Blue, and the cars Sam restored.

Human remains found today in car at pipeline blowout about 2 miles miles from me with flame at least 300 feet high.

Many years ago I attended a forensics seminar conducted by a prominent coroner. He reviewed a case where the decedent was shotgunned in a crowded bar, and described the scenario as an extremely professional execution, orchestrated by organized crime. He explained that the most effective...

    Front End FRIDAY!!!

My 300F was the only car in my stable that rivaled the Demonstrator. Owned it for just two years, sold it when my corporate life caved in. I was thinking about buying another, but the Demonstrator won out. GTX in the picture was number three. When I was a kid, my dad's boss's secretary drove a...

    Front End FRIDAY!!!

Owner of that 300F was staying at my hotel. He bought the car after a 40 year hibernation, got the brakes working, flushed the fuel system, tuned it up, and drove to Carlisle from Detroit. Survivor car with original paint and interior.

Looking for my first car - High school 69 charger

Hope you find it. My first GTX ended up in northwest Ohio (Edgarton) after I sold it in 1981. It dropped off the face of the earth after the buyer sold it to a used car dealer in 1989. I've found other cars from my past, but that one has managed to elude me. Posted here, and Roger Wilson's...

    1969 Hemi Road Runner RM23J9A305304

Probably. When the car last appeared in a 1996 Hemmings ad, Rob Clark was a first class subscriber. He called immediately, but the car was already sold. Price back than was $19,000.

    1969 Hemi Road Runner RM23J9A305304

I still find it amazing that this car has stayed off the radar for nearly 30 years. It's been an urban legend here in State College since new. I've been de-bunking rumors about the car's history for the last decade. Original owner was Julie Clark's band director in High School (my GTX was her...

    Original Mileage

I've put more miles on mine in two years of ownership than the previous owner did in 28. Driven to Carlisle every year, I don't own a car trailer. Each year I correct another problem brought on by lack of use. The car should be completely sorted out by the time I'm gone.

Post up facts and things that hardly anyone knows...... (for entertainment purposes only. NO need to fact check)

My adoptive mom came over in similar circumstances. I started out in a polio ward. We’ve both lived the proverbial that which doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. And we’ve both had some nice mopars as a result.
