Valve Cover Gaskets 68 Roadrunner 383

Whichever gasket you use will need a coat of RTV on both sides or they will most likely never seal. That is with iron heads and tin valve covers. I use cheap cork gaskets now with a coat of RTV on both sides. Don't over tighten and they seal up every time.

anyone in Phoenix, Surprise AZ that knows this car?

When I get back in town in a couple weeks I can go look at it and offer $20000. Makes your $25 look much better.

anyone in Phoenix, Surprise AZ that knows this car?

I have done that before for out of state people, and would again. We are leaving for Europe early Saturday morning and I have no time right now. If it still available in a couple of weeks I will go take a look.

anyone in Phoenix, Surprise AZ that knows this car?

That car is not far from me but I have never seen it. Paint looks faded like a true desert car. Probably no rust anywhere if it is a true desert car.

    $35k?

    This is true.

    $35k?

That is why you must check a car out in person, or have a professional inspector take a look. The 69 RR I recently purchased was Listed for sale in many websites by a classic car dealer, and for a decent price but did not sell. When I went to look I found out why. Looked great in the pictures...

    $35k?

It will sell. Prices have gone nuts as of late. Seems to be a decent car that still needs finishing. His price is a good starting starting point since he does not state price is firm.

69 Road Runner bucket seat headrests, or not?

No shoulder belts on my 69 either.

69 Road Runner bucket seat headrests, or not?

I wonder if some one removed them in the past? Or may be an early build that did not come with them?

69 Road Runner bucket seat headrests, or not?

My 69 RR Convertible does not have headrests on the bucket seats. Most I have found online do have headrests. But some do not. Which is factory correct?

Dakota digital dash going in soon

Where did you mount the main module? I hope to put it behind the cluster somewhere.

Dakota digital dash going in soon

Thanks for the heads up. I looked at the install instructions online, for me it looks pretty easy, wiring has been my thing for ever. I have the gear shift indicator accessory coming, and they make another accessory that lets you add additional gauges. I need to see if it can do trans temp.

Dakota digital dash going in soon

This is going in my 69 Roadrunner. The car has a 3 pod of gauges under the dash right now, oil pres, temp, volts. They can all go and get replaced with a boost, Fuel press, AFR guages, under the dash. The only working gauge in the stock cluster right now is fuel. So this will replace that, the...

How to tell if it is a true 69 Roadrunner

So, I bought the car. Trailered it home. The title actually says in the model field "ROAD R". Really? Did they not look at that before writing the add description. Better for me I guess. The underside is surprising. Got the car in the air, wiped down the underside, surprised to find the paint...

How to tell if it is a true 69 Roadrunner

We are taking a drive to Vegas to see the car in person, and taking the trailer.

How to tell if it is a true 69 Roadrunner

It is at a dealer, they wrote the add description, and people make mistakes. Being a Road Runner or satellite does not really matter. The price they are asking for it, being an Indy Cylinder head built Hemi engine, convertible, with big brakes and a blower is not too bad. My concern is not how...

How to tell if it is a true 69 Roadrunner

Thats my thinking as well. But, before I put any money down I want to see the body stampings. If they dont match the vin tag and the title, then this might as well be a parts car. I cant make the trip to Vegas till after Christmas. If they still have it.

How to tell if it is a true 69 Roadrunner

I looked for vin stampings on another 69 RR that is here right now. Just so I know where to look. On the core support, is this correct location? Next to the radiator? I felt around under the trunk weather strip lip all up and down the drivers side and could not feel any indents that could be a...

How to tell if it is a true 69 Roadrunner

No easy answer? On Allpar vin decoder, 1968 to 1980, second digit is price class, L=Low, M=Medium, H=High. Does not specify car model. https://www.allpar.com/threads/chrysler-vin-decoding-1926-2005-dodge-plymouth-desoto-jeep.229947/ So how did Plymouth differentiate Belvedere, Road Runner, and...

I think I see frame connectors, and at least rear torque boxes, circled in the below pics.
