A low deck block will not even have that raised pad that the 440 does.. I remember early on when Ken Lazzari Sp? was helping Kevin Chapman in his KOS Super Bee.. He had to make it look like a 440 and he epoxied a pad on it so it appeared to be a 440 when it really it was a 400 stroker motor..

One other think no one mentioned is… is this a factory Big block car with the engine in and running already? If not there will be a need of some trimming of the passenger inner fender as small block inner fenders and big block inner fenders are different…

Yes you said it better than I did but still the same.. Widening the angle.. Angle is the same just bigger at the top you say tighter at the bottom.....

No the top grows further apart the more you remove it's widening the angle.. It's all about geometry..

They can probably do it by looking at the intake to see what was done from the stock plane... I am sure you can see it when it's off next to a stock one. All of this should have been done at the start by cutting the intake faces on the head when the machinist was milling the heads or decking the...
