    Leaf Spring Advice

When you got to change your leaf springs make sure you use a bottle jack to hold the spring in place before your remove the bolt that holds the leaf spring to the mount. I didn't consider the fact that the leaf spring is under load when I removed the bolt. I removed the bolt and the spring...

    Odd Car show comments

I went to a local car show today and received the following comments- 1. "Three or Four?" I answered, "3 or 4 what". He said "3 or 4?" I again asked, "3 or 4" what? He then said, "383 or 440". I answered, "It's a 440". He then said, "3 or 4 is a Mopar thing," he then walked away. 2. A guy...

    Anyone Visited Disneyland Lately?

Living in So Cal I've had a couple of yearly passes and enjoyed going 4-6 times a year. Lately during Covid many of the attractions have been closed or slowed down and prices have increased. Disneyland even shut down the tram that shuttles you from the parking structure to the park entrance...

Gas Gauge & Sender Idea & Question

This may sound like a ridiculous question but here goes. Since there are issues with repop sending units and incorrect gauge readings, why wouldn't be possible to use a sender and matching fuel gauge from a new vehicle ie, Charge or Challenger etc. I had a new gas tank built to fit my 66...

    Hello From Pomona Ca

I had my 440 block machined at Graves, they did a great job. I'm guessing the guy in Rancho that is mentioned is Carlos at Submission Engines. Carlos owns the shop and is the sole engine builder. He specializes in Mopar engines but can build any motor. He built my 440, he's extremely reliable...

Don't Ever Place Stuff on the Roof of Your Daily Driver

When I was a patrol trainee with the Sheriff's Department my training officer placed his notebook with all my trainee paperwork and copies of reports I had written on the roof of our patrol car when we left the station. As soon as we entered the main intersection across from the station the...

I know you're looking for a Northern California engine builder, but I have a guy in SoCal. Carlos, the owner of a one man shop "Submission Engines" built mine. He's a great guy and very honest and knows Mopar engines, his shop specializes in Mopar. Worth the trip down south from Giants country!

    Vapor lock / hard restart

I'm not sure how or why the push rod ends detached I just know one end came off mine and one came off the push rod on a Road Runner. We both had the hollow push rods. My engine builder replaced both with solid push rods, no problems since the change.

    Vapor lock / hard restart

I thought I had a vapor lock issue for a while, I installed insulation around the fuel lines and installed a insulator plate under my carb. Nothing seemed to help then my engine builder called me and told me he figured out the problem. The fuel pump push rod on my new fuel pump was a new style...
