    My '69 Charger R/T Story

I was hesitant to do that much modifying, however the two factors that made my decision for me was a. watching that episode of Engine Masters and b. zero availability of TTI headers, so I went that route instead of gambling on another brand and wasting more money.

Finally got my hood finished, it turned out pretty good for having a fibreglass scoop riveted to the original hood.

I found out that the original kickdown linkage wouldn’t work with the high rise intake so I bought the Lokar cable and decided to go with a new throttle cable set up as well. It works really well and looks good too!

    My '69 Charger R/T Story

Honestly I wasn’t expecting that level of quality lol I thought they’d just dimple the headers and get them fitted.

    My '69 Charger R/T Story

How did your Summit headers fit? I had a hell of a problem with mine...passenger side hit the torsion bar, driver side couldn't even be installed and had to be seriously modified!

What am I missing? Can't get dash power...

I totally get it. That's why I found an auto electrical shop that is going to go through my system and make sure everything is working as it should be. It'll prob cost me 5-7 hours of labour, including prewiring for the retrosound radio.

What am I missing? Can't get dash power...

One of the issues I found was that the wires were in the wrong plugs on the engine wiring harness. The fusible link and violet wire had to be switched. It caused the main power wire on the dash harness to melt back about an inch! I also didn't have the alternator ground properly.

I got some rims and tires from my buddy, he painted them black and I threw my dog dish caps on them! Love the look!

I was pretty bummed out with my Summit headers and should have ordered TTI to begin with but I was trying to save some money. So after the Summit ones didn’t fit I decided to bite the bullet on TTIs but there were none available for months so I took my car to a local speed shop and they modified...

The last piece of the puzzle is the hood. Decided to adapt my original hood until I can afford to get a lift off hood from AAR.

More from install weekend. The other big surprise was that the driveshaft that I took out was now too long. I didn’t realize that small blocks are not as long as long blocks!

    69 Coronet 500

Engine and trans install went in relatively smooth. The headers were mounted just to check fit then taken off for the install. Ran into a minor issue with the headers…they were hitting the torsion bars. The driver side header couldn’t even go in.
