Yet another fuel gauge thread...but different

I hear ya.. Hated having to carry a flashlight to look down the filler neck to see if there was enough gas to get home.. Sucks that one has to lower or remove the tank to R&R the send unit.. That was gonna be my next question.

Yet another fuel gauge thread...but different

Low quality sending unit from either Year One or Classic.. I wont buy ANY electrical parts from Classic Ind especially DIMMER SWITCHES.. Might just bee my bad luck? But 4 have went bad within a year, as well as the fuel tank send unit. I dont know if they ALL buy from same vendor? But this is...

    Overcharged?

Yep 100%. Even replacing an Ammeter won't eliminate the problem. Ive seen 3 e bodies 2 B bodies with VOLTMETERS and NEW, MELTED bulkhead PACKARD connections.. Just me found it easier to unplug the harness, push the R6-12BK wire thru the "Firewall" and solder them together under the dash. One...

New Master Cylinders /"4 Point" Drum cars?

Have a quick question, 1969 A12 Coronet Super Bee drum brakes on all four corners heavy duty of course, master cylinder on the car looks to appear to be possibly original but at least very old, having some fluid coming from out from underneath cap it looks like.. Cant find JUST the cap gasket...

    Fuel Sending Units Cheaply made?

Wow... Hate to say, but at least it's not just me it seems. Wonder who makes/Sells a QUALITY unit? One that should Meet or Exceed the OEM unit. Maybe last 5/10 years? Thanks!

    Fuel Sending Units Cheaply made?

1969 Coronet Super Bee - Curious, if I'm the only one who thinks maybe a "Fuel tank Sending unit" might just be junk? Thanks a Bunch!

    Overcharged?

Thanks! I was about to ask that! Looking at the car, Im trying to decide how or where to GO INTO the dash with the 10 Ga black wire? A few cars Ive had I now remember theyve had that wire made and just ran through where "J" or the originl Black feed melted. Looks like they just removed the...

    Spark In no Spark Out!

So I had to re-read this one. You said Spark Plug test FAILED? Wondering if you got the distributor back yet. I do know doesnt take much carbon or "Arcing" to weaken the spark just enough.. Is distributor cap VENTED? Have a small black plastic cap that seems to move around? As spark happens, a...

    Overcharged?

Understood! So looks to be easily done. Now, when I go to make the RED wire from Fusible Link, should I leave blue LINK wire as is from starter switch? Or connect Fusible wire as PART of One wire to NEG side of Ammeter? I see that really they are as ONE between both + and = posts of Ammeter...
