Ooohoooo that smell can’t ya smell that smell

When I got mine from the PO, I tracked the very strong gas smell down to the tank vent tubes but also the filler neck gasket/grommet. I replaced the filler neck grommet but it still smelled a bit. So I put the Airplane make a gasket around the neck and gasket -- gone. Between that and a...

73 Vapor Separator connection to Carbon Canister or return line?

In my 73 Plymouth Chassis manual it mentions that only 440s came with a vapor separator at the fuel pump for vapor lock. So, did those configurations run a third line back to the tank or did the vapor return outlet on the separator go to an input on the charcoal canister? I came across an...

How loose or sloppy should 727 linkage be?

I guess there needs to be some flex in the linkage for motor / tranny movement.

How loose or sloppy should 727 linkage be?

Thanks! In the pic the trans shifter from column just lifts up and down even when all hooked up. I guess I’ll accept it. Thanks again!

How loose or sloppy should 727 linkage be?

Kind of a noob to 727 shifter and kickdown linkage. Going through reconnecting my 70 RR steering column and column shifter I noticed that a lot of my linkage is loose where they meet at joints. When hooked up, I can kind of bounce each joint a bit. I’ve been staring at manuals and posts but...

Do you mean the normal venting from the gas tank vents? Anything pre 70-71ish has tank vents to open air. I only noticed on mine when I moved it into garage attached to the house. I plug my tank vents into a carbon canister for long parks in the garage.

    R. Rear sway bar on 73 roadrunner

Sure. Factory sway bar at least on my 340 73 RR with an 8 3/4. Yours is in better shape than mine! Maybe bushings are worn out and new ones might bring yours back to center.

    R. Rear sway bar on 73 roadrunner

That's how mine is, but it does not have a sleeve around the curved part. But the spring and the bar are not touching on mine. From 73 CHASSIS FSM:

    8 3/4 Clunk/Yoke Tightening Advice...

Got my build sheet and after a little searching here, it looks like the car did come with a 3.23 Sure Grip. But at some point someone replaced part of the gears due to the date stamp of 1973. Once again, thanks for all of the help with this everyone! Found this here in another post here...
