    Camshaft help?

I am pretty sure this is a machine shop not the company your thinking of w cranks. They say they make lifters for bigger aftermarket companies. So buying from them direct is a considerable savings. I would call and talk to them before I bought.

Edlebrock RPM Heads on Stock Engine Questions

There really is nothing to seal up a slight imperfection w a cometic or a steel shim. So if either is assembled dry I think it's asking for trouble unless you really have a nice surface on the head and block...now if you coat it w copper coat?...have not tried it yet with a cometic. It has...

Edlebrock RPM Heads on Stock Engine Questions

Regular as in fresh or oem factory finish? We have been doing mirror finish on cometics ..but it does seem like it's overkill. We reused a set of factory shims coated with copper coat on a 400. They smashed down to .015. Copper coat is good stuff though. Used on a few diesels over the years w...

Edlebrock RPM Heads on Stock Engine Questions

On this project I wouldn't try running a thinner head gasket...like a steel shim or cometic. The TINY hp gains aren't worth the risk of having to replace a leaking head gasket. I would run the fel pro 1009 gaskets mentioned or comparable.

440hp in Charger ralleye in '72, Gtx and police cars. I think all the 440hp's may have received steel cranks? Our 73 does. By 72 the bb was gone as a option for the E bodies as far as I know? 340 was it. This thread reminds me of a car:p

    Camshaft help?

Yikes that is terrible on the shipping. We did a custom cam from Bullet and shipped it overseas and it wasn't bad. I think we used a courier service though. The Edm lifters are a good idea but optional. There is a third option...There are a few companies making tool steel lifters. The price of...

    Camshaft help?

You will be a little higher 9.3-9.4 w a .027... that was figured w a .039 and .1 down the deck. To know exactly measure how far your pistons are down the deck. Absolutely get a solid cam!!! If your comparing hydraulic to solid @ .050 duration numbers..... add +8 degrees to the hydraulic numbers...

    HP blocks

We have a 73 440 stamped hp and a 79 360hp In the 70s many engines stamped 440hp were in police cars. Like said...its just a stamp. No difference other then internals on a 440. The 360hp there was differences. But that wasn't the question.

    Camshaft help?

Is there a reason your looking for a hydraulic cam instead of a solid? Are you trying to run power brakes? Compression as described likely 9.1-9.2:1.

Can someone guide me for a proper cam?

Well..... They are suppose to. As I see it... No harm in trying them. If you don't like something about the fit...buy rollers rockers and new pushrods. :poke: Watch your pushrod length as it affects the lifter preload.

Can someone guide me for a proper cam?

There are trade offs on the heads. Stealths look stock which I prefer. 5 cc is not much difference as far as feel behind the steering wheel. But...I would rather have the 75cc over 80cc. So depends what your after and the $ to spend. Are they comparable in quality..? Probably...Plenty of...

Who has E bodies? Let’s see.

My youngest brother and Dad have challengers: 70 red 4 speed 360 70 lime green 383 71 plum crazy /6. I wish we had our 70 Cuda. It was turned into a race car back when they cut on good cars to make race cars. It was originally red on red 440 6 pack auto. We owned it and raced it from '95 till...

    Rant: I hate chrysler

Seriously, Calm down, and don't waste our time with rants of ignorance. It can take one bolt on any project to make a project go sideways. It can happen on anything! ...and USUALLY does! I have a 71 gm A body with a 455 olds. Talking about how much more room there is then a B body is ignorant...

    400 Refreshing

If it still has 50 year old bearings and original cast rings I wouldnt hesitate to look into freshening it up. It doesn't sound like a compression test was done and its now apart..so I suggest hone it and see how it cleans up before you make ANY plans. If it looks acceptable (judgement call)...
