Fender tag, VIN and build sheet match. Body stamps do not

My 68 Coronet 500 convertible I restored was borderline bad enough to go to the wreckers as it was rusty and had been in a one/several accidents so the rad support was hacked with pieces of metal welded on to hold rad in place, the rear quarters had been hacked/replaced at some time as well so...

hey is is just me ?

Young guy my daughter has been dating for a couple years now knew nothing about working on vehicles when they first started dating, he had a rough life growing up with no dad and a mom who didn't give a rats a$$ about him...But he was driving some run down POS that needed constant work so I let...

    71 Charger Reborn

Your differential is the 8 1/4"...decent axle and will hold up well to a basic small blocl, and even a stock big block but a 8-3/4" unit is what I'd want to run.

    1968 B-body Disc/Drum Master Cylinder repair kit...

Turns out the M/C on the coronet is toast after sitting the last 20 years....Car has the 4 piston Bendix disc brakes. Found a new M/C from Mancini and Year one doesn't have any rebuild kits in stock, and I can't seem to find a dorman kit. Anyone have a source for a kit, or number(s) for one...

The One I Loved Back Then Is Available

As someone who just bought back the Coronet I sold 20 years ago and still can't believe it happened...I will say go with GTX that you have pined over for all these years....the sentimental value is worth more then the Hemi in the other car IMHO. ;)

Might be getting back one of my old cars...

I'm going to start another thread with the history of the car, where it came from and how the restoration went 25 years ago...I have a bunch of old photos I'll scan and share. And then the current state of the car and the work involved with getting it back up to show/cruiser status, and then my...

Might be getting back one of my old cars...

can't tell you how surreal it is to have the Coronet in my possession again, I knew academically that it was mine but actually physically having it home I have to keep checking that it is truly here! I kept have these weird flashbacks today as I work on it and clean it...I start to feel like I...

Might be getting back one of my old cars...

Then spent a couple hours cleaning all the bugs off the front of the car...perils of open transport...and gave the car a quick bath. When coming off the transport truck the coronet had barely any brakes...just a spot at the very bottom where they would kind of grab. So I assumed the MC had...

Drive back went well...no issues at all and Ol' Patches just doesn't seem to care if I put anything on that trailer or not, such a dead nuts reliable tow vehicle! Just before entering Jasper National Park.... Got home about 01:45 and just parked in front of the shop and came inside and went...

Might be getting back one of my old cars...

Got it loaded on my trailer... ....and then had to find the one and only tire shop open on a Sunday in Edmonton since one of the tires on my trailer had decided to de-laminate during the 8+hr drive and the outside half of the tire was bulging and had worn off all the tread. I ended up...

Update on the Coronet.... When I was out visiting Wally and the coronet in Newfoundland we discussed transport and he said he would do all the leg work on his end since he has had cars and equipment moved all over Canada and knew a bunch of good people. So after a couple weeks I get home from...

Am i in for a transmission rebuild?

If you drove 200-300 miles with no throttle pressure on the kickdown lever on the transmission then you have likely cooked your tranmission, doesn't matter if you ever use kick down/passing gear or not the transmission needs that pressure or it will fail quickly.

    4bbl carb kickdown question.

Well with a 361 I'm assuming a early 66 Charger? I assume your 2bbl kick down linkage is a 3 piece set up? Should have one rod from the carb to the pivot on the back of the intake, then another rod from that pivot down to the transmission bell housing area, then one more rod from that point to...

Might be getting back one of my old cars...

After thinking about it I will most likely just get a new set of 14" RWL tires for the 14" chrome magnum rims for now, I'm going to be stretched pretty thin once I pay for transport, taxes, inspection and registration...probably another $10K for all that. So the new rims and tires might have to...
