I need some carb therapy... 69 GTX

I suggest you read your initial statement again, you state as fact all the setting are "EASY" to adjust.. As in all Holley's everywhere ever made on every car, every situation.. Part of what I was looking for in this thread is an answer to the question, what is unique about this carb I happen to...

I need some carb therapy... 69 GTX

I appreciate your disclaimer, "but"...I think you are being RUDE.. So let me repeat and clarify. If the fast idle is so easy to get to on this carb why did I pull it off the car every time to adjust it?? The Holley carb sitting on my 360 the fast idle screw is no problem to get to so I agree...

I spoke with Dominic, interesting guy.. Not exactly what I am after at this time though.. I think finally got the fast idle set on this one and it seems to be coming around like it wants to run pretty nice. This was 3310 was a manual choke and had been sitting for years, we have a shop in...

I need some carb therapy... 69 GTX

You talking about finding an old Carter or an Elderbrock AVS2 I think I should probably at least have a 750cfm so I guess I have to go with the 800 Elderbrock if I go that way. Then to expand on that I have a smaller one of these on my pick up, driver and I like it and I there is an older one on...

I need some carb therapy... 69 GTX

Thanks, yeah that on my car is a standard Holley body without a choke horn and they must have thought they were real tuners.. So your carb I think is the next model up demon? The one I was thinking about tying is the square one. Maybe I should look into what you have going on there? I kinda like...

    I need choked!

Let us know what you do, I just posted a thread this morning. I am looking for a choke on a carb and still hold a little originality look. A lot of people are bring up the Street Demon favorably in threads. 750s go for $405.00 on Amazon with electric choke. I am over the Holley thing, and the...

I need some carb therapy... 69 GTX

I have been chipping away at trying making this GTX a nice driver/working out some of the bugs the previous folks and father time have left this car with.. This is a real GTX and I have some documentation of history but no build sheet or fender tag. Although I can track past owners, i think...

Throttle Cable 69 GTX too Long?? Need Help...

So my wife found it this morning, in the Summit box with some other I ordered. I swore it came in a separate box and I put I some place. So I had been looking for a box that didn't exist. At least I didn't go around saying I heard it talking to me or I had a conversation with it. Back to that...

Throttle Cable 69 GTX too Long?? Need Help...

Thanks, for now I put the factory rig back on with a spacer under it to raise it up. Really not sure the throttle is even opening up all the way as I was by myself when I did it but at least I am driving again. I think I will take your advice, sorting out these little things wind up driving me...

Throttle Cable 69 GTX too Long?? Need Help...

So I bought this throttle cable bracket, seemed like a good idea. It moves the cable housing mount up and the bracket mounts better to the intake with two bolts than what was on the engine. Only now the actual cable part needs to go way out almost to the front of the front float bowl. hence...

Here is a pic of fuel tank in 69 GTX?

Thanks, I have seen for other cars there are kits for the hoses, the metal bridge thing, clamps etc.. Maybe for this car too but when there is not even the vent stuff to hook to I didn't even look for that yet. So back to thanks for your pics, so what do your vent lines go to? Maybe if I look...

Here is a pic of fuel tank in 69 GTX?

I forgot so say it is a 69 Yeah thanks, so looks like the return line is there but its disconnected at the front of car and cut short by the torsion bar. I guess the rest of the venting system is gone? I don't know what is supposed to look like up there?

fuel vapor separator on 440 6pak?

I see the pic in post #2 but its hard for me to see much there. It looks like it somehow hangs off of the fuel pump maybe but the pick of the vapor can doesn't show the hanger? When I get to Chrysler's at Carlisle I will dig into it as this is cool. Glad you guys brought this stuff up. Thanks
