Thread sealant on fuel pump flare fittings?

A little lube on the threads prevents galled threads. Flare stays dry to seal, do not over tighten , flares will crack.

Do I need an electric fuel pump? 71 Charger 440x6

All joking aside my dad's 40 chevy had a primer bulb on the right splash panel. The 235 had a set of Rochester 2bbls that would leak down.

It wants to stall upon fast braking and on downhill slopes...

May be coming up and out of the vent tubes . Then dropping in the intake. Just for a test add a short piece of fuel hose on the vents. Some of the circle track guys have to.

Should fuel pressure remain when car is shut down?

New carb out if the box still in most cases will need the floats set. Also the air/ fuel screws adjusted. When you seat one it should cause a change in the idle if it does not there is crap in it or a vacuum leak. Eddy / Carter carbs should be ran around 5 to 6 lbs of fuel pressure. Be real...

    Performer RPM

So, if I read your post right you are saying a preformer rpm on a stock 440 will at let's say 4,500 rpm make less hp than the preformer on the same engine at the same rpm. Gas tank sending unit float.

I can't speak for all B bodies but you can swap the fuel pickup / sender on a 67 coronet without dropping the tank. You need to unhook the shocks from the bottom and let the rear housing hang. Gives you extra room to work. Make sure you have a low fuel level.

    Sending Unit - Fuel Gauge

Did you end up using the meter match even after bending the pickup tube? My 67 has the same 1/2 tank reading when full, good grounds , pickup to fuel line bridge ground strap and also a tank flange to frame ground added. , new tank and of course the infamous repop sender.

    Strong fuel smell

Just thinking, is the fuel smell present when windows and vents are closed ? Just trying to think if it's coming through with outside air flow dragging it inside. I understand your engine is fuel injected but is it possible it is running to rich coming off of a higher rpm back to idle ect.

    Strong fuel smell

MY 67 vents back inside the filler tube. Not 100 percent up on 67 coronet production so if they built some in California its possible they have a different vent system.

    Strong fuel smell

few things to check, make sure the cap vent is working, check the trunk weather strip with a dollar bill , close the lid on the bill several spots and make sure you have drag when pulling. Sometimes if running a open style air cleaner at slow speed the fumes can be sucked into the cabin at floor...

    Torker , thermoquad combo.

Thanks , lol. I will give it a try. I know the dual plane helps the low end . I just can't leave things alone, I may try a little head work on a extra set I have and add the torker and heads both. Trying to see if I can get some good gains even with the low compression. It runs pretty good as...
