You have made quite a few updates / repairs.
dadsbee and torred make good suggestions, tie that choke open, just don't dump more fuel in, pump out all the old fuel you can and get some new in it.

If that was mine I would pull the covers make sure the edges are all level. Straighten the bolt holes back flat.
Get a new set of cork gaskets use a bit of gasket glue to stick them on the ( clean ) covers.
Let them set for a hr or two and install.
Use a nut driver or at the most a 1/4 drive...
The visors.... I hope whoever installed the head liner inserted the mount screws in each hole a few turns before the liner went in.
If they did you should be able to feel around the area for the heads, make a tiny slit/ hole to pop the screw heads through.
If no screw heads are present find...
Going with a product like omni single stage mtk. 9300 paint last years prices were anyplace from $75 to $250 per gal depending on color.
Activator 167 aprox $60 qt.
Omni epoxy primer aprox $150 gal , and another 50/$60 for activator.
Reducer 186 omni another $60 aprox.

I spray mine off at the hand held car wash after hitting the front with some bug be gone. Any tuff spots or tar/ rubber on the lowers I use the hand mit.
Shammy it off and go.
I use wizard products for wax and mist detail.

I'm doing pretty much the same, studs on the corners.
Every time I have had a leak it's been with after market cast or fab aluminum covers.
That and combine it with some high dollar rubber steel layered gaskets , just my luck but it's a fight.
I go back to stamp steel covers and cork gaskets and...
If your cam and lifters are going bad like you said that engine will need a complete tear down and cleaning anyway.
You can do the stroker kit and still maintain the stock look.
Anybody questions the performance just tell them you have a good curve on the distributor. :thumbsup:
What is under the paint plays a big part.
Aka, a light grey sealer under silver, whites , ect.
A dark grey or black sealer under dark colors.
Quality of the paint plays a huge part.
Many times the same color mixed in different product lines from the same brand will have better or light coverage...
