    Short Water Pump for 383?

Well just my 2 cents but after seeing the OPs pics I would remove that ((shroud)) and surface mount the fan and try it out. I have never liked that style of flat shroud. Looks more like a air flow block to me. If that electric fan has a decent cfm rate it looks large enough to do the job.

    Flex fans

I run a fixed blade 18" 7 blade Chrysler fan, It makes noise and I am sure draws some horse power. It will hold a dollar bill to the grille front at a 700 rpm idle, I do use a fan shroud and have good seals from hood to cowl and hood to radiator support. It is for sure a old style system but it...

    How many 12oz cans of R134a in a 73 RV2 system?

    Looking to replace my radiator

2843225 is a fixed seven blade , not sure on the clutch fan part numbers, There are many used on ebay. Plus we have a parts wanted section on here that may help turn up the parts you need. I just think a good fan / shroud combo and getting air flow were it should be will help you a bunch.

Need to replace my radiator | any good youtube video?

Michael to get started just drain your old radiator down far enough to remove the thermostat. Replace the housing with a new gasket and add your flush chemical ( what ever brand you have available in Germany ) top off with some water. You have to run the engine up to operating temp a few times...

    Looking to replace my radiator

With that 3 core radiator if your running 180 - 190 on the road when its hot out I think a fan swap to a oem style clutch or 7 blade fixed plus adding a shroud should cool it down at slow speed and idle. Make sure your hood to rad support seal is good and back of hood to cowl seal also. make...

Need help but not a Mopar

Not positive on your VW but most late model cars that use double fan rack can be pulled from the top. Look things over once you get the top cover panel pulled. Wiring will have plugs sometimes to a junction point on the back side of the rack. May also be a couple friction / push in wire loom...

    Fan clutch failing?

beanhead, I know apples and oranges... my 18" fixed 7 blade and shroud will hold a dollar bill on the outside of my grille at 700 rpm idle. As far as space you can use whatever length spacer you need to get it just right. But yes I agree with you on your fan clutch giving up at higher temp...

    Block Flush, Need Advice

Myself looking at the picture posted above see the radiator is blocked by the electric fan shroud. To me it looks like your only useing 15 or 16" of available radiator core. I know that electric fan mount /shroud to me seems way to close to the core to do much more than block air flow. Air...

    Cooling system, wits end

I am thinking you should go back to the electric fans then find whats killing the air flow at highway speed, AC condenser, electric fan shroud ? Try pumping the AC down and pulling the condenser out then take a drive. I know that is alot of work but if it runs cool then you can find another...

    383 running hot

What 12icer has posted about {the correct head gaskets } is more important than guys think it is. My felpro gasket set had the blue seal head gaskets, The dog bone shaped water passages from head to block were only just a small slit on the gaskets. I took a razor blade and enlarged them to get...

    Ford Contour electric fans

I like it. few bugs to work out but looks like it will all fall into place. What size of relay did Ford use on the contour ? Keep us posted , Ive been on the fence about going to electric myself just for the HP gain. I have heard different figures from 10 to 20 hp the mechanical fans use up...

    Heat Soak Issue

Evapo rust sells a radiator/block flush. Drain system, remove thermostat, use 2 qts of the evapo rust block cleaner and fill with water. For it to work you must run it for a couple weeks with some miles and hrs on the system. Reason I say 2 weeks is most folks do not drive their classic that...
