    Rust removal by using molasses

I also put a few drops on one of my front running lights where the stamped steel bulb receptacle is pressed into the pot-metal light housing/frame. Corrosion from the dissimilar metals was keeping the bulb from grounding. Been good 4 years since. My car never gets wet tho. No driving in rain or...

    Rust removal by using molasses

Yes. I only put in a cup of molasses. I didn't put any water in. Just pink anti-freeze.

    Rust removal by using molasses

Yep, I did put some in my radiator, after making the mistake of using 100% water in it for it's first 2 years. It started leaking from rusting out the chrome water pump nozzle holding the thermostat. I fixed it by filing it down to a good sealing surface again. Then filled it with just coolant...

    Line lock- on rear brakes?

I should have said when I started this thread that I'm running an auto trans. Sorry to everyone who wasted time talking about locks with manual trans. I think it's obvious to us all that lock out on rears with manual wouldn't be a good way to go, even if you were Fred Astaire, ha... I have...

    69 gtx

Great work as usual! Good to see you finishing it up. I'd consider installing the trim yourself unless you're confident with the noel guys.. Easy to scratch paint putting it on. Also, I dented my Dutchman panel with my elbows while working on the rear window. I removed the trunk lid and I was...

    $500- 68 charger

I have only got about 2k miles on it now, after 3 years of cruise ins and car shows. I love driving it but not in a lot of traffic. It really feels good and everything works great on it. It reminds me of my go-kart racing days the way it handles turns. The super sticky M/T tires and stiff...

    $500- 68 charger

It does sound good. Too bad that's not the real audio. The guy that made that video changed it to an open header car. When I put in my 500hp motor I'll put some cutouts on it. Never have cranked it with open headers except for a few short times in my garage when first getting it running.

    Line lock- on rear brakes?

I'm still undecided but leaning towards putting it on rears. I wonder how nhra techs would react if you told them yes the line lock is on the rear line but not being used to lock-in the rears. It's being used as a lock-out the rears. I bet the rule was written with someone locking-in the rears...

    $500- 68 charger

Well I got lazy and didn't do my annual new years post but it's been 10 years since I got the charger and things are still good with me and it. Just trying to make it thru the boring winter and looking forward to some good cruising, cruise-ins and car shows in 2023. Happy New Year everyone!

    Line lock- on rear brakes?

A bud told me he was putting his line-lock on his rear brakes. I said that's not going to work but he explained that it actually works better. You hit the switch without brakes applied and then you will only have front brakes which you can pedal on an off if/as needed during burn-out. Finish...

    Racing Insurance and roll cage?

Thanks, good read. I was thinking that at a hi cost Lloyd’s of London would probably cover on track and looks like they can co-cover with companies like in that article.

    Racing Insurance and roll cage?

Looks like this co insures on track but they're in Canada I think. Not sure that would work for me. Drag Racing & Insurance: Does My Car Insurance Cover Me at the Racetrack? | Surex

    Racing Insurance and roll cage?

Yep. That's where I got that pic from. In Questions- FAQs, Hagerty says "not competitive events.". And they also say time trial events are ok but all on-track coverage is only for "HPDE events", which is a racing school... I still am having trouble believing there is anyone who offers...

    Racing Insurance and roll cage?

Agreed.. I can understand it ok on dune buggys and similar., and I would think Arizona would be a more accepting place for performance vehicles.

    Racing Insurance and roll cage?

Thanks., I saw that and from what I read HPDE stands for Hi Performance Driver Education, a road racing school where you bring your car. And looks like Track Day is timed laps on a road coarse. They also say something about auto-cross. I'm not interested in anything but pure drag racing on a...

    Racing Insurance and roll cage?

I'm sure this has been discussed many times here before but my searches didn't yield anything, plus things change. Let me first tell how this came up again with me.. While building my 68 charger (with an insurable, street legal "roll bar"), I did a good bit of researching on how I could best out...
