If the title only matches the vin on the dash then you don't have the correct title for the car. I had the same thing on a '73 Challenger. The vin is affixed to the dash pad and someone changed it. Stupidest thing Mopar ever did.

Thats how they act. They'll get hot and stop working, just like turning the key off. After a cooling down period they'll work again.

I don't know of any 12 volt wire that would give you that much of a shock. If it's killing the engine, sounds just like if you were grounding the coil wire. See if it's touching against anything.

You probably got the shock from a plug wire touching something linked to what you came in contact with. Also make sure you have ground straps from the engine to the firewall ect.

Sounds like the master cylinder. Take it loose from the booster and see if it's wet with fluid behind it.
