New shop build out coming to life

I constructed a portable mezzanine for a restoration project and it really helped with storage. I used screws to ease disassembly. Not nearly as nice as a walkup but, I haven't built my dream shop yet. I have 12' ceilings. Mike

Cherry Pickers Leaking Hydraulic Oil (always)?

I built my picker (of course) 20 years ago. The first cylinder (Chinese) leaked right away so I went to a better Chinese air over hydraulic unit which has been leak free for 10 years or so. Mike

Is it just me or do led work lights suck?

Related. I now have 2 pair of eyeglasses ground for my astigmatism in my bifocal adjustment that I use for my welding and closeup work and my computer work. They were relatively cheap and really help. Any looking up, up close is a bitch with regular eyeglasses. These were a godsend when my eye...

Safety Clean/shop wash vat solutions....going to diesel.....?

I recently had Safety Kleen change out my tank solvent (Safety Kleen solvent for 30 years now) and it has changed formula from what I could tell. It does seem to evaporate slower. My tank is ancient and holds 35 gallons, and I had 14 years of use on the last refill, so I paid the $$$$ and figure...

    Grease gun storage ideas

I keep my two over my transmission tear-down bench. When they drip it goes in the bucket below. I use the bench to disassemble all my greasy stuff. Mike

    Garage/Shop floor Coating

This discussion makes my memory kick in. When I was 12, I worked part time for my dad in his garage. One of my chores was to scrape the floor in the heated shop area. It was a BEAR! Oil, grease, and mud was packed down by trucks and school buses for decades. I remember it was about 1/2 to 3/4...

New shop build out coming to life

Can anyone recommend a good, economical brand (I have 39 double bulb fixtures) of 4', 120-volt LEDs? I bought bulbs through Amazon, and I have replaced over a dozen in 3 years' time due to flickering. They have a small PC board inside, which I suspect is the troublemaker. In 20 years, I think I...
