Thoughts on using stock harness vs full replacement

Rewiring a stock style system is a piece of cake. It takes some research time to find the correct terminals but, they are available. Wire is easy to source if you don't try to buy traced wire. I can recommend a set of Astro crimpers for terminating. And lots of wire loom. Mike

    What Is This Ammeter Doing?

Perhaps it's just a calibration issue. Try a voltmeter. Mike

    Ammeter wires question

Heat is caused by resistance in the system. Either the connection is not clean/tight enough or the current flow is more than the wire size allows. Do you have a greater than OEM alternator output? The wire terminal should go on the stud, followed by the washer and nut. I am not familiar with any...

Turn Signals only work when running lights are off

No. You need to start voltage checks at the source in every circuit and work downstream toward the load, eliminating all connections as the issue until it is found. Mike

    Rotor phasing?

Thanks for the responses fellas! I came to the conclusion that I had been thinking incorrectly all this time, believing the rotor would be different in a Mopar MSD distributor than a Chevy. The caps and rotors are universal to the design/all the same. Just another brain fart in my old age I...

    Rotor phasing?

I'm running a FAST 2.0 fuel injection system that controls the timing, FAST recommends phasing of the rotor. I'll look again at the MSD site. Mike

Turn Signals only work when running lights are off

Did you check your flasher unit, grounds, power at sockets? Are you using incandescent bulbs? Mike

Water resistant independent power distribution block?

I think what I want is a water resistant, independent terminal strip to use as a junction for wiring so I can split all my circuits to pass thru the fender. Thanks for the ideas. Mike

Water resistant independent power distribution block?

I did spend some time looking before writing my query. And I plan to spend more time if need be. Thanks fellas. Mike

Water resistant independent power distribution block?

I'm wiring up my 65 Belvedere and have 17 circuits to run to the front of the car. I'm going thru the right fender well and need a way to route thru a grommet in the fender at the front edge. I thought a distribution strip might work as I can terminate each wire and attach them to the strip. It...

Need some help with 68 Charger wiring

From what I can see it appears the insulating washer is not on the field connector you show so, it seems to me that all is correct. As long as one field terminal is fed from the regulator and the other is grounded, a later model alternator will work. Mike

    MSD distributors for 1964 361 ?

I used the HEI module on my 65 (318 poly) and a mounting adapter (Mopar HEI Conversion) with a Ford E frame coil (Rock Auto) that I concealed on the right-side inner fender. Works excellent! Starts quicker than any of my late model autos. Mike
