    I "think" you just type their screen name in the form --> @screename and they get some sort of notice... just use that @ sign.

    I've had this issue too. If your conversation box is full OR if the person you're starting a conversation with's box is full, then you can't start a conversation. I think the basic membership level is about 10 or something. A tiny message will pop up if this is problem. So.....if it's you...

    Same thing happens to me on my home computer....but not on my work computer?? I don't check the "stay logged in box" since I don't want to be logged in 24/7
