Carb to six-pack What's the difference between 4672 and 4365

The jetting is probably different, due to emission regulations. The early carb is the one to buy. The secondary carbs are interchangeable. Mike

    493 Stroker intake selection..

Question: Are you stating "locked" distributor with no mechanical advance or no vacuum advance canister? I have almost the same combo in my 66 Belvedere wagon. I do use a Hughes solid flat tappet cam, their recommended pick (older model). I do have a 6 pack intake though. It made 453 HP at the...

    Rebuilding carburetors at home

For corroded float bowls (aluminum and cast iron-used to do a lot of tractor carbs) plug the jets/orifices and bead blast the bowls. Mike

    Rebuilding carburetors at home

Soaking the metering blocks and main body should dissolve passage crud with a long enough submersion. The EPA made these carb cleaning solutions very weak compared the "good old stuff" so, longer soak time is something I do. You may want to rinse with hot water and use compressed air to blow out...

    69 Roadrunner Carter carb question

That car should have a divorced choke carburetor. That's not even a Mopar carb. The two ports you show are clean air (top) and warmed clean air (bottom). The air would have been routed through a small exhaust heat exchanger. The choke looks to have a heating coil too. Mike

Did you check the plugs? Sounds like a head gasket issue. Any bubbles in the coolant while running? Is it using/low on coolant? Mike Mike

    Secondary Metering Plates

I'm running those billet jet plates on my 6 pack setup. They work fine, in fact I went up 10 jet sizes to get maximum power on Steve Morris' chassis dyno many years ago. Perhaps more than one plate design is out there? Mike

    Carb Spacers

I can only assume this is only for appearances. A good single 4 barrel manifold will make more power. Mike

    Carb Spacers

Check the carb to carb clearance. The manifold would have to have been designed to mount Holleys to have enough clearance for Holley float bowls. Few were. Mike

Blocking heat riser and effect on choke operation?

I welded 1/4" aluminum plugs in my 6 pack intake. I have been using it for decades this way. I installed a manual choke. The stock choke thermostat adjustment can be loosened up to just close the butterfly and open sooner. You wouldn't block the heat riser passage if you were not looking for...
