I would go with Vintage Air from personal experience. I have dealt with both companies and Classic since ownership change sucks in customer service after you purchase. Wasn't like that about 2 years ago but...
I also would buy a a/c heat system that replaces your factory underdash unit and all...
Quanta belts work great on a car that isn't seeing any real RPM but once you sendit they are gone!!!!
Ask me how I know. I try to find Mopar Replacement on the internet and ebay if you know your lengths they are out there.
Ron
Guys yes it was charged with 134A, no additives no similar products. In
fact I have a case of the 134 equivalent and some R12 cans sitting here I will have to sell, I bought it when I didn't know any better and my stock setup was using R12 still.
Thanks Ron
...like nothing and still not as cold as today started so the plan is to put some dye in and see what we see. Won't be able to get to it for a couple of days so stay tuned!!!
****T2R9: I won't be at Carlisle but thank you for your offer!!!*****
Does your family call you T2R9 also????haha
Ron
Well I got the car out today and was super impressed for about 30 minutes and then things went backwards!
Today is 85-86 degrees and took the car out for about an hour, backroads and hyway. Engine temperature never got over 160 degrees. ( 2nd line on factory gauge and 160 on the mechanical...
Yes since my car had a working factory A/C setup I ordered up a flush kit for the evaporator to clean it out of any/all R12 that was in there before I did the new install.
Ron
WOW that's some good information right there!!!
yes he did mention about installing a relay so with this information I'll also pick my buddy's brain to see what he was speaking about too.
TY Ron
yes the factory fan sure can be better, I had mine restored when I did the car in 2015 but not like a new car.
I could have sworn a buddy told me there is a way to boast their power, I'm going to have to ask him about that or maybe I dreamed it!!!
Ron
T2R9 I was hoping you would chime in, I saw you in another post with having this kit.
Yes I did the install/change-over about two weeks ago and after crimping the ends and all the work I ran a vacuum for hours 30" and it held after for a day etc... I had initially put in 2 cans 24oz but then my...
...I could see the RV 2 compressor was probably in need of another rebuild by the high side #'s I was getting and the air was cool but not cold air.
****Note I had the driveway resealed so can't take the car out for a few days.*****
So today it's 82 degrees with like 70% humidity and I have...
Bill the problem housings should have been sorted by now. That was a 440 Source sold housing about 15-20 years ago that were made with smaller ports for some reason.
This MP housing is laying on my desk with a cast iron one and port wise are the same. The only difference with this particular one...
I've read that plugging that bypass is usually for drag cars NOT running a thermostat, also when cold the gauge will do weird things because there can/will be cavitation.
It is meant to push all of the water through the radiator and no warm water into engine when still cold and usually makes it...
***********OK Another UPDATE***************
I took all the accessories off the engine to paint it and in doing so I decided to take the water pump housing off and the pump and thermostat off of it.
I found this "TRICK of the WEEK" under my thermostat:
1st. pic is a stock cast iron with factory...
OK very happy with the past few days of testing, temperature rides around 172 in this weather and after about an hour went to 180 at a light. Pull away and right back to 170-175 so I going to conclude I had that steam pocket caught in the right side corner of water pump housing that now the...
Small update:
I have the car back together and am breaking in the rear gears.
I have installed the two 5/8 nipples and looped a piece of heater hose to see if maybe a hot-pocket needed to move. Today's ride consisted of about a half hour and the gauge acted perfectly. Car ran in the 170 area and...
