On the '66 and '67s it would need back halfed and large tubs to get a 12" under there.
I've seen a couple with 60 series tires, the back end up just a little and it really changes the looks of the car. The factory stance and tires never really did it for me but that's just me.

I've seen a couple "West Coast" cars with tint and no AC. I even own one. You could order tint without having AC. I still get a kick out of a convertible with AC but you'll see one now and then.
I had s 1964 Dodge that had dark tinting all the way around. Apparently there were four different levels of tint and you could order what you wanted.

You should be able to take the headers loose from the heads enough to remove the heads. After removing the heads you should be able to take the headers out from the top or bottom.

Plus Ebay is full of them. They even sell individual pairs so you don't need to buy a whole set like Detroit M has.

Just save your old locking ring. It's heavier than the replacements out there.
4 or 5 inches could be the spider gears turning before the driveshaft moves on a open rear. Leave one wheel on the ground and try it. Or have someone hold the opposite wheel. Normally only one side will work at a time when jacked up.
