Who still has the original dealer emblem on the decklid? What kind of alloy?

Seems like a lot of work. I can't imagine what that would cost now. For plastic I guess one could now be 3d printed. I don't know what it would cost to get either chromed.

Who still has the original dealer emblem on the decklid? What kind of alloy?

I always wanted to know how dealers got these made? Some are just plastic but some are metal and had been chrome plated.

    Is this 68 440 QQ1?

LOL, I'm now 65 and I had a QQ1 '68 RoadRunner when I was in high school and up untill I read about the color numbers recently I had always thought the entire number was the code for the Blue alone. Never stop learning.

Looking to view a 1968 Q-code Bright Blue Metallic paint job - Detroit area

The second Q is the color of the steel top under the vinyl, the vinyl is not part of this number. If you car was no vinyl it would still be QQ1. If it was 2 tone only paint no vinyl it could be like QW2. Blue/White-2 tone.

    Is this 68 440 QQ1?

I recently learned this about the '68 color codes, the 1st letter - Q is the body color, the 2nd letter - Q is the roof color and the 3rd which is a digit - 1 means it is all 1 color. Of course this is on the steel, if there is a vinyl top that is not part of this number. A 2 tone car could be...

    Clean and Polish Anodized Grille

I'm planning to strip the anodizing off my '68 grill, polish and then have it clear powder coated to keep from having to polish all the time. I saw some headlights doors done that way at MOParty last year. He said they were had been done a couple years and they still looked good.
