    Unplanned outing with the roadrunner

    My buddies dart ran about the same ET’s as the roadrunner through his 3” exhaust. When we uncapped it, it picked up .3 tenths.

    I think the angles are ok, but I’m going to recheck them. It was defiantly sucking air and oil from the bottom. I probably messed up by not gluing it down. I didn’t want to have to pry on that magnesium to take it apart in the future.

    Well dyno day didn’t go quite to plan. Spent all day Monday fighting a reversion problem with the cross ram. Tried 2 sets of carbs, different coil, crank trigger, re-sealed the lid. Pretty much threw the kitchen sink at it and it would not straighten out. I was offered a little time the next day...

    Finished my first set of carbs up last night. One more set to go, prime the pump and put some plugs in it and it’s ready to dyno.

    Yes TF’s. It ran decent with a solid flat tappet right at .600 lift. Went 10.60’s with a 3.54. Doing the cam swap and making a converter adjustment. See if we can widdle a few more tenths out of it.

    Max wedge six pack

    Pretty neat dyno test. They took an rb six pack intake, welded it up, ported it to a set of 270 heads. It made pretty good power. It was still down quite a bit though from a big single plane and a dominator. (That test is also on YouTube)

    Modified my summit tray a bit. Also this sweet intake showed up, just needs a little port match. Probably dyno early next year.

    Did my returns and modified the tray to drain. Had to add a spacer anyway cause I dropped the k frame 1/2” for header clearence.

    drag link issues with charlies oil pan and girdle

    Charlie’s didn’t do a very good job on the drag link hole. I had to open up the top passenger side of my pan to fit my dart as the bend in the drag link hit it. Everywhere else it was close on the bottom. I think the ones with the holes work better.I just had to add a spacer to mine dolce to...

    Still plugging away on my hemi. Added some drain back tubes for oil control.

    Solid lift flat tappet cams or hydraulic flat tappet.

    I run a SFT in my roadrunner street car. I check it about once a summer and its usually a wasted effort. Main thing is use decent rockers and pushrods. It’s the Mickey Mouse valve train that makes solids a pain in the ***.
